Two faced city fans

Why do people judge other City fans and presume the worst?

I was proud of our fans around me in 115 last night. They didn't let their fans bully us and take the piss in OUR BLOCK.

These fans weren't stood in 115 keeping their heads down, or having a laugh with their mates, they were goading us and those that got one, deserved a slap.

It kicked off because one idiot at the front turned round and started climbing up seats to get close to one of the City fans, there were little kids in that area, he was being an idiot and got what he deserved!

On the plus side it added an edge to the game which boosted the atmosphere - when we went ahead that's the loudest it's been this season.

Oh, and I found a pound on the floor, quality!

I took such joy in taking the German a few seats along for a little dance when the third went in.

It was only when I got outside I realised I'd lost a pound doing it. Put a right dampener on the night...

Sit in 211 loads of germans all great craic and no bother at all made the game for me last night (lets not forget until seville scored most fans had this game down as dead rubber as we thought Juve will score)

People who were trying to get them kick out were a joke they were doing no harm they werent millwall or united fans just normal fans like me and you who wanted to watch there team
Even when we went 3-2 up and their hopes for europa league had gone they were sound

I completely agree with OP some blues were a joke last night
and if anyone says they shouldnt be in our end try remember the year we were in div 2 and every away game we had loads of blues in the home end
and if anyone says they shouldnt celebrate cask your minds back to Schalke and Hamburg away when we scored loads of blues jumped up or at Blackburn away when we all celebrating in their end no trouble

I would rather be sat next to 4 germans who were happy to have a good chat about the match and were asking about our songs when we sung them than an empty seat or some clown singing german bombers or in-ger-land

Maybe if we behaved like they did last night we wouldnt get treated like cattle or scum by the authorities when we play away

Agreed was top atmosphere in 211

There were loads of them in green and white scarves around town yesterday, having a look round, spending money and taking pics. Reminded me of Euro 96 when they [and others] came up for games at OT. Always happy to welcome them to our city. The exact opposite of the day that Rangers turned up...

Me and my lad got stopped by security and was asked to produce match tickets and was asked were we was from before being able to grab a pint at Summerbees bar,But we was surrounded by BM fans in the family stand,Piss Take!

Ha! Same here. I tried getting in Summerbees, showed my seasoncard as usual and the Showsec guy goes "Where you from mate?" I replied with a confused "Pardon mate?" and he just let me in after mumbling something about having to ask where people were from.

I can see both sides of this argument - on one hand I don't like to see away support in the home end, especially when its as blatant as that, but on the other hand the Gladbach fans really made a great atmosphere last night, and the ones I spoke to at least were jovial, friendly and just there for a good time. Your mileage may vary of course.

I was at a gig in Retro Bar that night. No phone signal down there so had no idea what had happened. Got out of the venue about midnight and it was like a war had broken out in the city. Absolutely horrendous.

What people aren't really understanding is the volume of fans in our end, especially south stand where they all congregated near to their own fans. It's not the same as 1-2 in the wrong end that you often get. They can be dealt with and thrown out if they don't keep quiet. Literally 100's in the same block can't be dealt with, at least not with the pitiful amount of police present.

They basically took over the entire 114 block, a lot of them were under the impression it was an away end. The steward i talked to at the barrier said many of the Gladbach fans questioned if mixed areas were common in England, a lot of them didn't seem to realise they were in the home end and so acted as if they were in the away end. Gladbach fans weren't to blame, even the few nobhead City fans that were kicking off and throwing things weren't really to blame, the blame lies with the club, for allowing the tickets to get into the hands of thousands of away fans, the stewards for even letting them in the home end and generally doing bugger all and the police for completely failing to deal with the situation.

Best hope we never draw either of the gruesome twosome from Glasgow if city are happy to sell tickets to away fans all around the ground .... really would be carnage then !!

Sounds like entirely the clubs fault to me. I still find it odd that someone's first reaction to someone celebrating a goal is to go looking for a fight but I suppose there will always be people who will react like that, football or not. I used to sit in 232 and it was always full of away fans for CL games. In fact me and the lad and maybe 2 or 3 other ST holders around us were the only regulars there. It was 95% tourists and away fans. I think our fans on the whole have not taken to this competition.
