Two minors suspended by club for offensive chanting at Brighton game | 17 year old charged by GMP (p29)

I've not read the entire thread but weren't they identified because they posted it on social media? The club can't ignore that if someone tells them. You can't honestly believe that the club deliberately didn't attempt to identify the scum who threw the pot of coins?
Mad how the club is getting stick from its own. The club didnt ask for this incident to occur.

In our era, yes. Infact no, it wouldn’t even have been a thing. We live in a different era now, though.

They posted their immature nonsense from the stadium, hours after Charlton’s death was confirmed. In this era of having to be seen to act, the result is this. It is harsh, but the club likely had little choice under the circumstances.

But the club didn't have to go about it the way they have, did they? Unless we accept that fans are now such completely disposable or replaceable entities that they can be used in whatever fashion necessary for the club's optics.

These two were being unpleasant little twats but it doesn't alter the fact that the club threw them under the bus with a completely disproportionate response because it suited them. It is what it is, the price of success and having smart business people running a club in the modern era of football is that the concept of the fan in the traditional sense disappears. We are all just economic units and Khaldoon and Pep can spout all the bollocks they like about us but actions speak louder than words. So the Idea that the club didn't have a choice I think is wrong, they made a choice. A very harsh one which shows where their priorities lie.

I've loved watching the current team but anyone who thinks fans are anything more than economically valuable window dressing these days is living in the past. If as part of that window dressing we do anything that compromises the brand and makes the passers by less happy we'll be removed and chucked in the basement. We're already seeing that some window dressing brings in more money than others and increasingly more of us will be seen as tired out mannequins, a bit scuffed round the edges, and off to the basement we go too.

Actually to strangle the life out of the analogy, we have a double problem. We are window dressing in a shop window where half the passers by are a bunch of fucking Karens who are full of self-righteousness and entitlement, ready to complain how this shop window isn't as good as the old one. There's Karen Rag, Karen Dipper, Karen Tarquin etc and worst of all Karen who works in the media. So as shop window dummies we all have to look that much prettier than the rest just to be allowed to stay in the window because our management have no interest in telling the Karens to fuck off. Meanwhile the Karens get what they want and go back home with their little victory to the shops they own or work for, which in some cases are festering run down poundshops with window displays you'd cross the road to avoid. Our management are ok with this model because at the end of the day, it's just a few shop dummies and they're easily replaceable.

But surely the person who throw the pot came from a row and seat number, how hard can it be to rewind the cctv ? Then City give the row and seat number to the dippers who than forward the details to City

Well apparently it's impossible, I'm sorry but if the choice is either just accepting that or believing that they're deliberately not looking then there's only the one option for me.

Should’ve just said they hadn’t heard the news at the time and were singing about a mate called Bobby.

I’m so glad I ain’t young anymore. Got up to all sorts of mischief as a kid & young adult.
And this is the thing now. Take away the incident and whether it’s punishment fits or not, we are all watched like hawks. Camera everywhere. You can’t move without potentially being filmed by someone.

Have a fall pissed up? You’re viral the next day. Help an old lady over the road, you’re this weeks sweetheart. Song a song about Bobby in a box, and here we are.

Like you I’m glad I wasn’t a kid in this day and age. I enjoyed the privilege of doing whatever, mischief or otherwise, without someone having a camera pointed at my face, or in the case of these morons, pointing it actually at myself.
