Two more retail companies look doomed

I quote from the article

I know, I know

There are lies, there are damn lies and there are statistics

I was earning more 5 years ago than I am today, I am in a company with 40 continual qtrs. of growth, however no bonuses have been paid out for years, as the high targets are virtually impossible to achieve. To meet them we would need high double digit growth YOY. But hay there are allot worse off than me. It just means I only have one holiday instead of two, and watch what I spend. So I am not great for companies trying to grow.

Neither am I, as I was made redundant in September.I've found a new job which I start a week Monday, 20k a year less

Must be in the South this wage growth because no one I know is getting big pay rises. It’s been either 0/0.5% or 1% at best for years.

Patisserie Valerie closing loads of stores (71) with 900 redundancies.

Santander closing 140 branches with 1270 jobs at risk. (Manchester Cross St, Ramsbottom and Knutsford included)

Santander are closing because no one goes in banks anymore …………………….. and I suppose that is the same for Patisserie Valerie !
It is market forces that's all, if people do internet banking for 95% of their transactions they cannot expect banks to remain open.

Yeah but I guess PV would have lasted a bit longer without their supposedly dodgy FInance Director.

Whenever I go into a bank there's always a queue
