Two more retail companies look doomed

Fair enough. Makes a change. I suppose some people actively want redundancy too. A lot of the staff at the big store in Warrington are getting on a bit, particularly in the food bit

Yep. They have more than few employees around the 70yo mark!
A lot the staff who have been moved leave quickly as they are put on new contracts
which say you have to work so many weekends and late nights - which is fair enough.
But they have been on very cosy contracts for decades and don't like it.
At least they give them the option though. To make the numbers balance they cut
back on the temps of which they have a lot.

Mike Ashley in talks to buy HMV
HMV should sack all their good staff, load the company with debt and sign a load of contracts that compromise the commercial health of the company before asking him for 3 times what it's worth and refusing to lower their valuation when it becomes clear nobody is willing to pay it, while insisting that the company is actually for sale.

Capitalism has failed, if you don't share the wealth created, it means no growth and recession. Real Pay decline is hitting all aspects of the economy.
