Two teens die in motorbike crash in Cardiff resulting in riots

That is not a police pursuit at any point and the van even turns left as they have gone straight on.
Yep seems all the twats on social media has stirred up shit and caused riots.

Not really. The chances of killing someone with a scooter is probably less than with a recklessly driven car. They’re more a danger to themselves as has been demonstrated.

Driving 35mph in a 30mph zone is not recklessly driving is it? If it is then every driver out there is a reckless driver as who hasn’t gone 5mph over a limit?

They were on an illegal escooter which can only be used on private land on a public road with no lessons or practice. These escooters can go up to 30mph.

Two lads speeding on an escooter (check post above for latest cctv footage) is more of a danger to pedestrians and other road users than someone going 35 in a 30 so yes it is a ridiculous comparison to make.

Last night someone on R4 said the van couldn't follow the kids as they knew the street they turned into was closed off a couple of hundred yards down.
The kids lost the police tail (if it was a tail) but why they crashed is another matter.

The amazing thing is that more feral kids don't get killed. There must be a fair attrition rate though. When you are young, you tend not to calculate risk - or if you do, you ignore it from a desire to look cool or hard.

Ultimately though, risky stuff is risky, If you're lucky, you just end up in hospital with multiple broken bones. If unlucky, you just get flowers tied to a lamppost.

I remember being in a mate's car when I was about 17/18. About six of us crammed in, going from school into town for a swift ale. I'm pretty sure he didn't stick to 30, and if owt had gone wrong I might not be here to tell the tale. Never gave it a thought at the time. Never occurred to me that it might end up wrapped around a tree. At that age, you think you're immortal.
