Txiki Begiristain

There was a good article out about our squad's makeup. I didn't realize how many players are in the last year of their contracts. Whew. Txixi might make some cuts. How about we just give Kolorav a full check and drop him off at the airport.

No it is you who are becoming desperate. As I said before wait until August 31st and then lets access the situation. We are progressing nicely signing up a good mixture of youth and experience. Yes there are question marks regarding 3 or 4 players who may or may not leave and I agree some of these will be hard to shift and may have to be loaned out at a loss. But in the greater scheme of things a million or two here and there will be of little importance.
With respect to starting the season slowly because of all this once again that is a red herring. Once we don't implode and do a Chelski it will be our form December on that will determine whether we win the league. I urge everybody to chill out and wait for the season to start.

I've never once mentioned a slow start.

How am I desperate? It's there for all to see. We have a full squad and quite a few ageing pro's we need to shift to bring in new blood.

Will this be the same come September? I've no idea. What I do know, having 7 players in their 30's with 1 year left on their contract is far from ideal and being in a position that you have to sell to buy or face marginalising or not getting full value for an asset is also pretty far from ideal.
This is Tixiki's department, and it's worthy of scrutiny much like getting Pep is worthy of praise.

Really? 29 was past his peak? Was Jovetic too? We also did a desperate deal to get rid of him.

Yep, some players peak earlier than others, Dzeko has gone on to prove his best years are behind him.

Jovetic's value plummeted because of his injury troubles.

Txixi hasn't pergormed with any distinction in any transfer window so far, and i'm afraid this is shaping up no different. Peps pulling power may be overstated too. One things certain though if we dont strengthen in the areas that need to be then we wont be winning fuck all. Peps not a miracle worker and this years league will be stronger than ever.

And the award for the most ridiculous post of the years goes to ...

Don't think Pep's pulling power is overstated when he's convince Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus to join.

He scored 8 goals in 21 starts according to 'whoscored'. He'd had an off season with City.

This however is totally irrelevant unless you're telling me Paulino and Soldado were in their peak?

For the record Soldado who's older scored 5 in 27 starts.

Nolito turned down Barcelona because he wanted to work with Pep, pretty good pulling power in that instance I'd say.

Dzeko's had two poor seasons on the trot, past his best.

I don't know what you're talking about Soldado or Paulinho for.
