Txiki Begiristain

We should sign players that look good in similar system than ours. Meaning useless pressing, not enough workrate, not enough tactical discipline etc. If a defender look good somewhere else in a team like this sign him up.

But sign up Bonucci who looked very good in a Juve side that was created by a clever manager and played by the system working really hard with lot of effort and discipline with Vidal, Marchisio,Pogba etc and immense track back from wide players then bring him here to put in a side that just doesnt work hard off the ball thats madness...

Simeone knows a few things about defending well, and he is happy to play our Stefan Savic in CB. Sign him up and play him in our system and he will look worse than he looked under Mancini.

Sign him up with Godin who is a fantastic CB and they are a duo at Atletico, and they wont be much better than Kolarov-Stones duo. Which means in a different system I am sure even Kolarov and Stones and otamendi would look much much better defenders.

Or just remember Lescott's best years for us, the system we played in that times, the clean sheets we had.

And then imagine Lescott playing at the half way line with Vardy, Hazard running at him with no protection from midfield.

Horses for courses, and all that. It's all very straight forward.

Can a player do a,b and c? If not, buy someone who can. Don't spend 40mil and ask him to do it anyway(Mangala). There are several examples of this.

Sane, Sterling and Gundogan hopefully. But which team have done a better job at recruiting?

Not one has fulfilled potential yet so try again. Sterling and Sane cost nearly 90m, I'd expect a significant return on that investment.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool just of the top of my head.

Good post.

Liverpool got Matip for free!

Christ its such a simplistic argument being had here its untrue and frankly its desperate.

Its the same every time a player scores against us with a thread popping up claiming we should buy him or why didn't we buy him.

What the fuck have Liverpool won due to signing Matip for free?

Nowt, there defending is as shite as ours. However, they've not had the budget (our net spend is approx. 200m more in the last 2 years) and CL to attract top players.

Thank christ someone has some sense. you've made me feel a bit better after reading that, it does not matter who we sign, if we hang them out to dry they will look shit!

They haven't had the budget or CL football because they have been shite, end of unlike us.

I get the anger right now but far too many seem unable to accept any defeat anymore or bumps in the road without demanding a sacking as if that will appease them and make it all better.

Yes we have spent money and its brought us success so why we should apologise for that or try to make it a negative im really not sure?

I started this thread in March and have been consistent for a couple of years with criticism for Txiki, it's not knee jerk. We are one of the top 10 clubs in world football, the bar is high. He hasn't delivered so why is it wrong to debate it?

Needs help badly and urgently..If compitent enough, the upper echelon, that is,Khaldoon & Mansour must have a sit regarding his position & performance this far..Another role of a technical director(One to oversee transfer negotiations purely) should be created,Sevilla's Monchi/Atleti's Berta/Bayern's Reschke should be at the top of that list, whilst Txixi remains the sporting director..If he doesn't accept the role change he can sod off to Spain.
