Txiki Begiristain

Our imbalance comes from the manager?

Does it? He played 3at the back as we had 1available centre half.
He started Zabaleta in midfield because Fernando simply can't do the job he's required to do.
We had 3 full backs in their 30's playing.
We had De Bruyne playing left wing back.

2 £40 million + right wingers on the bench.

We've had to ship out decent and useful players and keep dross as our squad was over stocked.
I was worried in the summer that we'd be left with situations like yesterday. I was right.

I've maintained for sometime that our midfield is way below the required standard. One suspension and we're watching poor old Zabaleta try fill in.
So who picks the teams ? Does Txiki have a shopping list or doded he just go out and buy any fucker just for the sake of it ? If so who subscribes to the made up list.Just him ? Just the Manager? Just Khaldoon ? Get my drift ? No I thought not as its a combined effort by more than just one person to determine in THEIR opinions who would be best suited to that role.
I`ve already stated that perhaps the Club thought that Angelino and Maffeo were ready to take two of those full back roles, but maybe Pep thinks they aren`,t quite ready hence hanging on for another season.Who knows ?

I'm not necessarily blaming Txiki here but the money we have spent in recent seasons is criminal when you consider the holes we have in our squad.

We've spent around £300 million in the past 2 summers and still need a midfielder, striker, CB and 2 full backs.

I wonder how much more we need to spend to sort it.

Guardiola picks the team and even he can't get a balanced set up.
He's left trying all sorts off systems and formations to try to cover the fact that many of the players at his disposal simply aren't good enough.

He's the director of football. In that role he's done many great things but let's be honest, the squad is lower in quality with less balance than the one he took over.
As director of football he carries the can for the first team squad as much as he deserves credit for his successes.

I said in the summer and I maintain now, our squad lacks balance and the deadwood I was very vocal about is now being put to work and is not fit for purpose.

Any City fan being honest would confess that an injury to Kompany, Aguero or Fernandinho would severely hamper us. Fernandinho especially.
A squad as expensively assembled as ours should not be so dependant on 1 player.

In his role as director of football he's overseen several transfer windows and in certain areas he's failed. He's failed to shift a lot of the deadwood and add balance to the squad, that is costing us and the manager.

I don't want to see him sacked. I don't really want to see anyone get sacked. I do think that he should be held responsible for some of the poor transfers. I find it hard to believe that he doesn't have to answer to anyone. There's got to be a reason why he does the things he does. I'm pretty sure he's under at least some pressure to get everything sorted. I don't know. I have a hard time articulating what is in my head. Lol.

By the same token we also heard at the beginning of the season that Pep was delighted to have both Zab and Kolo come back into the squad,so who was responsible for allowing them to stay. Both Clichy and Sagna have gone backwards this season and in my opinion I thought that Sagna was head and shoulders our best defender last season.Don`t get me started on Kolarov and Bravo, but who was the one person who wanted this signing more than anyone ... Pep,well what a bollock that was.And I expect its tin hat time but at this moment in time I don`t believe Kelechi is the answer as a striker.
Hopefully some the young kids we signed this summer are going to be ready for the start of next season and are showing enough potential with their loan clubs. We tried desperately to sign Arsenals fine full back.
I put the balance of the team down to Pep.Back 4 playing well and then changes to a useless three and downhill from then onwards. If he wants to play with three at the back they have to have speed for one thing, something most aint got at our club apart from Vinnie.

Can I just check because it sounds like Red Cafe on here ?

some of our supporters are morphing into the totally spoilt cnuts who infest the Rag pages .
