Txiki Begiristain

We pretty much saw Begiristain's and Pellers side at Southampton. Shorn of the talent bought by the previous regime the 170 million they have spent, to create a poor second string, was easily dismantled by a motivated but cheaply assembled Southampton side

Txixi is a terrible operator in the transfer market

De Bruyne - £55mil - paid what he's worth
Sterling - £44mil + add ons - about 3 times more than he is worth
Otamendi - £34mil - double what he is worth
Delph - £8.5mil - What he is worth but he is not good enough
Bony - £25mil - LOL
Mangala - £32mil????? - Ripped off by about £20mil
Fernando - £12mil - Could get our money back if he was sold
Willy - £6mil - Overpaid when you consider Arsenal paid £10mil for Cech from a rival
Sagna - Free - Good signing
Fernandinho - £30mil - great signing but £30mil was a tad steep
Jovetic - £22mil - Paid for potential, didn't work out, have to take a loss
Negredo - £16mil - Made 4-4-2 work then hurt his shoulder which somehow has managed to derail his ability, impressively made a profit.
Navas - £15mil - good value
Demichelis - £4mil - Let him move to Atletico before deciding we want him?, forget this season and he was a decent signing.

---------------------Willy---------------------
Sagna---Otamendi---Demichelis--Mangala
--------Fernandinho----Fernando--------
De Bruyne------------------------------Sterling
------------Bony------------------Jovetic-------

Bench:
Delph
Navas
Negredo

Outlay - £303mil+
Wow, absolutely terrible. God knows how much money on wages wasted as well on top of that £300m in fees.

Really have very little faith in this guy.

Actually Mangala was £42m, not £32m.......

Another thing...he has previous at Barcelona.

Some of his dealings their were appalling ie Zaltan, even Henry can be questioned

Actually it's not the first time we have been easily dismantled by a Southampton side. Pretty sure we went into meltdown over it as well. Same crime different culprits.

Motivated being the key word in there. You can have the best players in the world and it won't mean shit if they aren't motivated and aren't properly instructed by the manager. What we're really being let down by is the squad players who know they won't be here next year and are just downing tools and a manager doing similar.

Yes we did. It does feel a bit different this time. This will be our lowest points total since Bobby Mancs first full season in charge when we are at the start of the cycle and the components were not fully in place.

The regression has been huge over the last two seasons and the pattern of play, being comprehensively thumped, is something not seen for a good few years.

That is very true.

Everytime I watch southampton they seem to have a different back four and yet seem significantly better organised than ourselves.

We saw it at the end of the Hughes era, Mancini walked in and defensively we improved over night. I genuinely think it will happen with Pep as a structure of play will be introduced which we do not have at the minute.

Some players will never be motivated. Regardless of the manager you will never get 11 players to play with the same commitment as say a Tevez. You need to identify and buy those personalities.

We have bought too many without that endearing quality.

This obsession of replicating Barca with Barca boys is way over the top.

Someone should have a word with HRH Mansour then because its his club and his brief they are all following.

Dont for a second think I'm defending him or saying he never makes mistakes, I'm not but its the reality and as fans, we just need to think about what he has got right so far since he took us over and that's virtually everything before we start moaning too much.

Also, if we are to emulate a club and its success then Barca isnt that bad a model to follow is it?
