But we have won trophies, we're going back to Wembley again, and the monies invested gets a return as the club is profitable thanks to the success on the pitch.

Not every signing has worked out, but we have brought Sane and Jesus to the club recently. And Guardiola of course.

There are many clubs in the Premiership who have spent huge sums and been less successful.

How many have spent more and been less successful

Pellegrini won the League and Cup in his first season, and finished in the top 4 in his 2nd and 3rd season.

Lets hope Pep can match it.

He deserves both praise and criticism in equal measure. He's bought some very good players such as Sterling, Sane, Jesus and Stones, but the likes of Mangala, Fernando, Delph and Jovetic leave a sour taste. What has irked me is his constant negligence of the fullbacks, which is criminal for me.

With the appalling waste of money on player recruitment he should go. His record is poor at best and in any other business he would have been sacked. We have gone backwards for the past 3 seasons. We still have Mancini's players in our team for gods sake.

Or maybe some people are being overly critical because they don't like how respected he is and really want to believe that he's the Emperor with No Clothes because it reinforces their worldview that anybody who is successful is ultimately either corrupt or fluking it, because fuck knows they can't blame themselves for their own inadequacies and lack of ability to realise their ambitions and it must be the world that is wrong.

I'm pretty sure it's one of those but have yet to figure out which one.

Hilarious.

Less of the cod psychology please. It's a results business and at the moment Pep is despite spending another 150 mill doing not much better than his predecessor.
We are allowed to comment on that fact.
