When they’ve got 650 million fans world wide they should be selling their ground out. They made those stupid claims and look a little silly. If you were some kid in China or India would you want to associate yourself with that pile of shite? Their history cousins down the road in Merseyside are probably a better proposition for the wavering plastic support that evaporates when City rock up and give them a kicking.

funny thing is i got on the bus today and it had whitney houston hologram tour tour posted on it does that make me a fan of her's

You could be right but my understanding is that the oligarchs provided the upfront cash needed at the time when Russia broke up. In return they got the rights to export the commodities, particularly oil.
They did not extract it, they simply handled its export.
As Tolmie posted this phase has changed somewhat to steel for Mr A..
It was more the case that the Oligarchs made their millions as the USSR broke up. Boris Yeltsin handed out huge swathes of state assets to his pals including mineral and oil rights. Some grabbed assets by trickery and buying employee shares for a song often from windows of the former state employees. They clearly picked up this idea from the way that Louis Edwards acquired control of United in the 1950s.

After the chaos of Yeltsin’s rule, the same Oligarchs (or most of them) helped to bankroll Putin.

Yeltsin defaulted on a huge bond issue repayment (in-fact he stopped the repayment of all foreign debt for a time) and shared out billions of hard currency amongst his friends. An absolute thief and a crook.

Yh, who will want to do that considering the stadium isn't done yet and their finances are so reliant on CL and player sales.
An arab with filthy oil money and his hand in Amanda Staveley's pocket. Preferably one who cheats ffp, and pays the manager extra by the back door.

Moshiri's long time associate, the oligarch Usmanov, has paid £30m to EFC for the option on naming rights on the new stadium whilst EFC announce losses of £111m! Usmanov is an oligarch who you can liken to Abramovic in terms of the origin of his wealth and his political power. He is a long time associate of Moshiri and already sponsors the Everton training ground Finch Farm.

Let's see what the Guardian and the BBC make of this.
