I think it’s pot luck. UEFA picks one judge, we pick another, and CAS themselves provide the third. The whole thing will hinge on that one man’s interpretation of events.
Personally, given that we will have been tried and found guilty by the media a million times over before CAS delivers its judgment, I’d say that 3rd judge will need balls of steel if he’s gonna exonerate us, cos in the eyes of the brainwashed public it would be like Nuremberg freeing Herman Goering. UEFA were as calculating as always in making our ban 2 years, cos it gives CAS the chicken’s way out, ie.downgrading the punishment rather than overruling it, which is no use to City. Even a 1 year ban utterly fucks us financially, and never mind the reputational damage

You're presuming that the UEFA picked judge will side with them (and vice versa of course), as judges they should be impartial and consider all of the evidence. I've certainly got more faith in them than I do in UEFA.

A question for the legal experts, can we take this matter beyond CAS and if so what are the options?

I'm no legal anything but we can take it to the Swiss courts if needed.

I'm not as clued up on this case as you guys are. But I keep seeing references to 'irrefutable evidence' that you aren't guilty. Is this just something the owners have come out with? Or is there more to it?

Be interesting to know your take on this. Do you see it as ourselves now being classed as cheats...or do you actually see uefa and its protective rule for what it is really is ?

One thing I am strugling with is the charge.

Etihad have many investors from the UAE and obviously our owner is one, there is nothing fraudulant or corrupt about such investment and cetainly not illegal

If etihad use some of their investments to them to fund our sponsorship, well that's their decission and shouldn't need to be declared in my opinion.

So the only way uefa could know the money may have been partly from investmemts from the shiek could inly be found out through illegal means such as the hacking claims.

So uefa are using illegal means and inuendo to make a case and charge us.

Anyone defending uefa is defending illegal acts and collusion.
Mansour is not an investor, a board member or an executive of Etihad It was signed off by auditors and accepted by UEFA as not a related party The email refers to money being topped up for the sponsorship by His Highness this is the leader of the UAE it seems UEFA have assumed this is Mansour

yes it seems that UEFA are using illegally obtained by a criminal hacked emails

Spanish cartel avoid paying tax and so do their employees. UEFA do ????
Liverpool hack our computer system FA do ???
Platini sets up FFP and is removed from office for corruption????
A hacker supposedly gets into our computers and is awaiting sentencing, yet these documents are used as evidence???
In an English court of law, stolen documents can’t be used as evidence!!!!

But in uefas made up kangaroo court court it can because it serves its purpose of stopping us and limiting middle eastern investment

Couldn't sleep. I'm fairly new to the forum but am of the opinion that PB is a true blue with a little inside information. I think his Twitter last night said that Ceferin met with City a couple of months ago and asked City to admit a technical breach and pay a small fine. Ceferin must have previously discussed this with the Cartel so why would Gill and co be happy just to let City have a slap on the wrists. Were they 100% sure of their case? Khaldoon true to his word said" sorry no more pinches".So where did that leave Uefa? they couldn't back down either. Apparently on the 23rd of Jan the bombshell from Uefa dropped on City but wasn't announced till yesterday. Were Uefa trying to bully and frighten us but giving us time to reconsider and take the pinch. Khaldoon couldn't back down, and we are where we are. "In Khaldoon we trust".
Link to his Twitter please

We are all on here ranting about uefa, the cartel the scummy press but we need to be ranting at the picks within our club who have got us in this situation.sombody needs to pay yes uefa hate us as do the rest but somebody at the club has fucked up big time and they nead naming and shaming

The club have made alot of bold statements on FFP and UEFA and here we are.
Here is what I was referring to
“Simply put, this is a case initiated by UEFA, prosecuted by UEFA and judged by UEFA. With this prejudicial process now over, the Club will pursue an impartial judgment as quickly as possible and will therefore, in the first instance, commence proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the earliest opportunity”

This has obviously a long way to go and it's boom or bust for both sides but I hope we do blow them out of the water. One interesting side issue is the players. PL are waiting for this to be ratified before imposing their own penalties (if you had ever been beaten up on the way home from school, he's the one at the back that you didn't manage to get too) and that's where it gets interesting.
I really like our guys, they seem to all get on and training sometimes looks like a party. But, faced with , lets say for argument, a two year ban, there are a couple of problem areas like wages and winning stuff thats in their contracts (maybe not winning the CL but getting to different stages.

It will be interesting (in a bad way obviously) who jumps ship first (I'm not asking for names). I wouldn't blame them. They are here to win stuff and earn money and as long as they respect the club and are professional, I haven't a problem. You would like to think Vinny and Zabba, in the same situation would say 'feck it I'm staying but others, I just don't know. It the ban sticks, it's the end of a dream for Sergio, Dinho, Walker, Nico and Gundy, probably. I wonder how they are all feeling this morning and who is wispering in their ears.
