That should be the way it works. UEFA brought the charge and sanctioned us on the basis of evidence they claim proved it.

I think UEFA will link the Der Spiegel artickes to the row they had with us in 2013-14 over the value of our sponsorships. It will disolve the whole heart of the matter into an accountancy argument over the minutiae of FFP and what the inclusion of IAS 24 virtually word for word into FFP actually means. By the end of such arguments, the wood will not be visible for the trees.
The lack of process by UEFA will probably result in the ban being dismissed, but we will be labelled in the general public view as cheats.
This is of course what the G14 cartel want to happen and will probably be the excuse they need to breakaway from UEFA and form there own competition. UEFA will be so damaged by their incompetence they will not be able to fight back.

If they had been doctored, City would happily have provided the true mails showing how unreliable they were. City would also have said that on day one. It would have put a completely different complexion on the reporting by De Spiegel. But you are, of course, entitled to your opinion.

You may well be right, but I don't think we will sue the press. Next time some of these bastards turn up at the Etihad, give them a verbal pasting and no lunch.

I agree that taking actions against lots of individual journalists would be a waste of time and energy. But it may well make sense long-term to pick out a couple of media big hitters (perhaps the BBC, Guardian, Daily Mail) and fire a salvo over the bows. We must not continue to be seen as a soft touch. All we have ever wanted was fairness, balance, and accuracy. Raheem made a huge impact when he hit back strongly at the media. The problem is that rightly or wrongly CFG have taken a more measured PR approach (because of concerns over the sensitive global politics) but this has not really helped Manchester City FC while we are under siege. I hope the Soriano statement is a watershed moment but let's see what happens next.

Redaction is not doctoring nor material. Its perfectly normal and reasonable. Doctored has certain connotations (ie to mislead) which you are either suggesting or not.

Redaction is not doctoring nor material. Its perfectly normal and reasonable. Doctored has certain connotations (ie to mislead) which you are either suggesting or not.

Doctoring is altering a document in order to deceive someone reading it. By virtue of simply being redacted, a document is perfectly capable of being doctored.
