Taking into account the statement from the CEO regarding our innocence of all the charges with regard to breaching FFP I cannot see how we can accept any judgement of wrongdoing resulting in any form of ban or fine. If we do accept any such derevation I would expect his resignation as by accepting such we will have admitted we did wrong and he will be painted as a liar. Not sure his position would be tenable.
I've looked at the evidence as presented by der Spiegel previously and if neither we as a club or persons involved have given further evidence (which is what I suspect given the none compliance charge) or Etihad have divulged anything further then UEFA will have struggled to ascertain any further credible evidence as to our guilt of the alleged charges. I have tried to reconcile this with the fact that their evidence has allegedly been examined by a selection of high court judges within the IAC who have declared we have a substantial case to answer. The two sets of facts do not balance well meaning either they have more evidence than given credit for, although it's current source remains unknown, or the IAC judges have come to decisions totally without justification and questions as to impartiality would have to asked.
In any event CAS decisions are made public and it will make interesting reading. It should mean that all the evidence is laid bare for all to see. If we are innocent and this is upheld, it should mean that those responsible for the witch hunt are exposed and should lose their jobs as a minimum. I am unsure that if certain facts are revealed which would normally not be available to the general public if they would be included in any such summation or if they would be redacted on account of company privacy.
If it is our CEO and others proven to be at fault, then internally heads should roll and we will be finished in the short term. A Premier League investigation may follow the sanctions from which are unimaginable. There may even be criminal charges as we will have been caught cooking the books, which is a criminal offence.
The whole perception of the clubs integrity worldwide and by association HH SM and Abu Dhabi is at stake, make no mistake we cannot be found guilty by CAS as the repercussions don't bear thinking about. If you think our press is bad now just imagine the indignation from the written and rest of the press pack should we be proven guilty. (By any degree). Nothing less than full exhoneration is required.
The reckoning approaches.
