not so ? the governing body of european football (uefa) don't and will keep it in house and set the rules to the boards mandate unless it crosses over into a police matter. just like Fifa and the crimes that some members did filter money into other accounts out side of the one's they was working for

the FBI should have locked up michel platini and many more ? but only a slap on the back of the hand and free to live as normal and because of Fifa took away their jobs it was done and forgotten about

yes it is true if UEFA and competitions fall foul of EU law then they're in trouble. The problem is it needs someone to take it to court something we will be doing if we lose the appeal

Controversial take...

Some of our fans will be secretly annoyed if we don’t get banned. You know the types. Those always desperate to be contrarian and appear unbiased. It’ll ruin some of their potential ‘I told you so’ blog entries that’s for sure.

This is just a nothing post. People have to be aware of the ramifications of what happens next if we are banned. Nobody wants it. But its also worth pointing out, if the ban stands then City have fucked up. There won't be any defending it.

I would like the Mansour to flex his financial muscles and create his own competition. Let the G14 slope off and play each other time and time again like the SPFL. (What a treat that is!) He could offer prize money way more than the opposition comps and allow the world's media to broadcast it for far less. The G14 would start out ok but would wither and die in time. It can be done!

This is where this G14 cartel nonsense ends. Let's take our ball in and get the Sheikh (who we simultaneously claim is not in control of the situation) to start a new competition without the G14. Hmm

If. Do you think the Der Spiegel emails suggest we have? Most City fans have over the months come up with various explanations as to why they are not damning. Even David Conn who politically does not like our owner, argued that the Etihad deal amounted to state sponsorship. Even if the UAE state did indeed finance a shortfall as long as City have in place a sponsorship agreement of £60m pa with etihad then that feels fair. If you are Der Spiegel and you want to damage a Sheikh then you can dress it up as deception but it needn't be that at all.

Let’s not forget that Der Spiegel also claimed in their mini-series of anti-City articles that we’d done something dodgy when signing Jadon Sancho from Watford, yet the FA concluded there was no case for us to answer. Around the same time, they claimed a multiple Champions League winner had failed a drugs test following a Champions League final but didn’t get a ban. However, upon publishing the full story - the player in question was Sergio Ramos - it turned out nothing of the sort happened.

Much of what Der Spiegel publishes is sensationalist trumped-up bollocks, and while I don’t doubt that they sometimes get it right, they’re the German equivalent of The Sun for me.

Jesus, hop offProject's dick.

The guy quotes a few of CAS' old verdicts, quotes the same Latin phrase "de novo" and people take what he says as gospel and for some reason defend him from any rebuttal (as you're doing)

for me he's acting like a bit of a dramatis personae.

If that’s genuinely all you think PR has added to the debate, then you either:
1 - don’t understand his posts, in which case why not respond and ask him what point he’s trying to make
2 - don’t agree with his take on the situation, in which case why not offer your alternative interpretation to add the the debate, or
3 - haven’t actually read his posts on this issue - in which case your opinion on them is, frankly, worthless.

He’s always taken the time to consider and respond to people’s questions drawing on his specific experience and expertise, which many may not have direct access to in their own line of work.

This is why most value his take on the whole CAS situation, and appreciate what he’s added to the debate. Just because he doesn’t go for the easy on the ear ‘UEFA are G14 scum and will fail because they’re bastards’ angle, and provides a bit more objectivity doesn’t mean he isn’t a ‘proper’ City fan.

If City felt that FFP was bollocks then the club should have challenged it when it was introduced. They didn't, they've agreed to Uefa's rules so it's absurd now that people are still trotting the line of "it's unfair".

This whole blaming other clubs is a nonsense. It's a competitive, multi billion industry where finishing fourth is a guaranteed £100m with CL qualification. The idea that other clubs are going to sit idly by and want City to get off freely if we have broken rules is a nonsense.

The epl that voted FFP in that needed 75% acceptance, the parachute payments was enough a bribe for most, the Champions League is an invitational competition in which you have to agree to the rules before you can enter, what makes you think City did not challenge the bollocks?

Interesting that you responded to it.

I believe you’ve posted in the past saying you’d be surprised if we weren’t guilty or something along those lines.

Hence their name in English is The Mirror. Says it all really.
