MEN.

CAS is arbitration so [normally] there has to have been a ruling made before CAS get involved, so it does seem a pre-emptive strike," said Kieran Maguire, a football finance expert at the University of Liverpool.

"In a sense, it's a defensive move from City - and it's perfectly valid. They feel that they have complied with all the relevant rules and that they've been picked on by certain clubs.

"The head of La Liga has been very vocal and the head of UEFA seems to want to pick a fight, with City and PSG easy targets. Going to CAS suggests City are getting all their ducks in a row.

"The application makes sense from a City point of view and also sends a signal to UEFA that they mean business."

Maguire is usually pretty solid in his opinions, I think. The University of Liverpool has a well-known football finance group which he's part of.

Stunned eh. Goes to show how clever they are then if this is true. I know would be considering next steps for all scenarios if I was UEFA. If its tue they are stunned it just goes to show 2 things. 1. They are as stupid as they look 2. Their legal representation is shite, which is fine by me
There were enough warnings in the end of season address by Al Mubarak. if they didn't catch that then there was the small matter of a 100 page dosier we sent them that they didn't consider.
No they persisted with the leaking of an imminent ban.

So to summarise.. we have appealed against the legitimatacy and fairness of the investigation rather than wait for uefa to review the investigation and judge a sanction on us?

If this is the case then there could potentially be 2 CAS appeals, 1st the above and if CAS side with uefa on the investigation then a second appeal on the sanction imposed.. does that make sense and does my theory have legs? If so it's intelligent of City hierarchy / laywers to drag out proceeding / costs to uefa..
Makes sense imo, if CAS considered UEFA procedure was done in respect with their own rules.

Right now if I could do gifs, which I cant. I'd be thinking Diego Simeone post Atletico Madrid scoring

That’s precisely the scenario.

The question I want to ask any legal people on here.
If CAS throw it back to UEFA and say you have not done your investigations properly. Having not communicated with city on numerous issues and trying to rush it through to beat the deadline.
Are UEFA able to revisit it or is it now too late as the deadline has passed?

Part of me thinks this may have been a pre planned outcome between UEFA and City.
Basically UEFA can go back to the clubs pushing to punish city and say we did our best but ran out of time

There is no agreement with City and UEFA.

They’re officially at war.
