The reality is that nothing is guaranteed in court cases like this. They rumble on forever and the outcome is a lottery.

And? Our owner has deep enough pockets for a nice lengthy court case. Can we say the same of the others? Even if we don't get the result we want they will still be hit where it hurts.

‚I'm not nervous at all. Yes, we'd lose some money but out owners have quite enough of it and will take care the mails don't leak again while doing exactly the same stuff to run the club without any problems.

And meanwhile, we'd piss all over the league.
You seem to miss something pretty key there. The players.

I am a bit nervous about this tbh. Just hope City have everything in place to fuck them all. On the other hand, I get some encouragement that they won't do anything to PSG. If that happens, we will surely win in court?

It was the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) that decided PSG's fate. They sided with PSG by stating that any previous sanctions were, in their own words, "final and binding". UEFA CANNOT impose sanctions over matters for which a settlement has already taken place. We may have to pursue the matter through CAS but would ultimately win.

Care to explain/elaborate on where you get this 5 year ban from?
Just trying to make the point that whilst many on here talk about loving not being in the CL the players feel exactly the opposite. We will still be here whatever happens and whatever they throw at us. The players? Not so much.

Nope. The ones we have won't be bothered. And Rags were getting the likes of Pogba while not being in CL, Liverpool got Salahs and Manes. We're not buying world's superstars anyway. Give them enough of money and Premier League would do it for year or two.

City lacks an advocate sitting on the board, huge difference it seems!

It doesn’t really matter who sits on what board once it goes to the court of arbitration.

I don’t think UEFA want to risk a drawn out court battle with a big risk to them if they lose. If city say they have complied to all FFP rules then I’m sure they have, especially if they can cite PSG as a precedent.

Every time we achieve anything- these cheap shots appear. We need to call UEFA and these tosspot journalists out and have them put up or shut up. The timing of this article might give a clue as to whose stoking this shit up.
Does it rhyme with jaded pill ?

They hit the timing right as they always do. It is released just as we win something to overshadow our achievements and make out we cheated.
Yep
They’re really desperate to stop us aren’t they!
Nothing makes a group stronger than injustice.
It will create a bloody good siege mentality and will make the club even more determined to succeed.
UEFA best watch out for what they wish for....

Imagine Pep's motivation if this happens. He'd sign 10 years contract. He bought heavily into the club mostly because all this shit being thrown at us. He's tough fucker. Guess this reminds him about Catalonia's fight.

Ah makes sense. Cheers.

Yip,all about discrediting our achievements or trying too,I think it’s all a load of bollocks to be honest just regurgitating previous articles,on the other hand if and it’s a big if any of it’s slightly true and uefa feel the need to take action ( pressurised by cartel clubs) then I can’t see the club or more so our owner sheik mansour taking any medicine this time around, remember there’s a power struggle going on behind the scenes in European football we are in the middle of it ...

He mentioned leaving the forum a few weeks ago. It was over conflicting interests about City Matters and abuse he was getting off a couple of posters on here in that thread.

Not seen him since he started a thread about leaving the forum. The thread was removed pretty quickly though.

He replied to it on twitter, I hope it's okay to post it here.

" Who’s reporting that? We’d kill them in court if that was the case."

Good points
Apparently not.
Apparently it’s an “infantile obsession” to look for a quote in a story like this when you’re trying to establish the truth from a journalist’s opinion (not saying this is just his opinion btw).
Apparently the guy who tweeted it is a “good journalist” so we don’t need any quotes, we can just believe what he says without anything to substantiate it or back up his claims.
Apparently stories like this (without quotes) can win the writer one of them there Pulitzer Prizes.
Apparently asking for quotes from UEFA is akin to asking a journalist to just print a “press release” although the journalist must have spoken to UEFA to get his “information”! So his tweet could be considered a sort of, erm, press release. I’m hoping the journalist does tweet the official press release from UEFA when they actually say something that doesn’t need any quotes to substantiate anything, if he does he may win himself one of them there Pulitzer Prizes.

Nothing is going to happen. The last wo paragraphs say it all. If PSG get away with no fines and bans so will we.

Our situation is different to theirs in that we did not disclose that our owners or His Highness or whomever was fronting up 7/8ths of the Etihad cash, and that had UEFA known that was the case, we would have been hit with more severe sanctions. Those will be the grounds used to differentiate our case from PSG’s

Exactly my thoughts. This would virtually guarantee Pep staying beyond his current contract...he loves nothing more than a fight...it’s a Catalan trait.
They may hurt us in the short term but they cannot stop us. We are the fastest growing club in turn over and the most highly valued in the PL.

Quite from the article.

If UEFA is unable to establish a case and enforce a punishment, it risks seeing its system of financial rules — in place since 2011, and designed to impose a measure of financial fairness within the European soccer economy — rendered meaningless. Several officials on the financial control bodies also have said privately that their reputations could be harmed if their work is seen to be toothless.

So, " if UEFA is unable to establish a case" , surely it's not so cut and dried.
It's all about pandering to the old vanguard of European football royalty.
Get the lawyers churning out paperwork and writs. Show all the evidence, and then defend it in CAS or the courts.
