In some quarters it's called keeping your own counsel. In others, 'being a man', in still others, 'class'.
In the world at large, it's about emotional intelligence; owning your responsibilities and maintaining focus without letting the petty stories that we are all capable of creating distract you from your goals.
I think going in swinging is the wrong strategy anyway.
The aim is surely to get on the right side of the people who run UEFA, and trying to bully them will be counter-productive to that end. UEFA pretty much had to investigate this, and are doing. As yet, there's no outcome and therefore no need to be heavy-handed.
If the club can convince UEFA that they are cooperating and on UEFA's side in UEFA vs 'G14', the long term benefit may be worth the current pain.
Both these have it spot on. When, in the last 10 years of ownership, have you know City to ‘come out swinging’? I won’t wait to long for the answer. One thing I have learnt is that City just get on with the job of winning games. No media bans, no tv interviews telling UEFA to stuff it, nothing. They let the lawyers do their bit, accept the punishment for breaking rules if broken with no histrionics and get on with winning. Personally, I find this very, very refreshing and, probably something more people should follow as an example. Non of this ‘coming out swinging’, banning reporters etc will actually achieve anything. If anything it would produce even more bad press. The only people who would probably feel better would be some of our supporters.
