In some quarters it's called keeping your own counsel. In others, 'being a man', in still others, 'class'.
In the world at large, it's about emotional intelligence; owning your responsibilities and maintaining focus without letting the petty stories that we are all capable of creating distract you from your goals.

I think going in swinging is the wrong strategy anyway.

The aim is surely to get on the right side of the people who run UEFA, and trying to bully them will be counter-productive to that end. UEFA pretty much had to investigate this, and are doing. As yet, there's no outcome and therefore no need to be heavy-handed.

If the club can convince UEFA that they are cooperating and on UEFA's side in UEFA vs 'G14', the long term benefit may be worth the current pain.

Both these have it spot on. When, in the last 10 years of ownership, have you know City to ‘come out swinging’? I won’t wait to long for the answer. One thing I have learnt is that City just get on with the job of winning games. No media bans, no tv interviews telling UEFA to stuff it, nothing. They let the lawyers do their bit, accept the punishment for breaking rules if broken with no histrionics and get on with winning. Personally, I find this very, very refreshing and, probably something more people should follow as an example. Non of this ‘coming out swinging’, banning reporters etc will actually achieve anything. If anything it would produce even more bad press. The only people who would probably feel better would be some of our supporters.

Talk Sport hauled him off.

He was on dodgy legal ground and Matterface got sick of pulling him up.

Added to that he came across as a blustering fool who was making it up as he went along.

I thought his brain had melted when he was asked what the difference between the treatment of City and PSG.

But, there does come a time when you have to say enough is enough.

I think the last 24 hours has put our owners in that position.

Yup, all this glorious talk about 'gloves off' and 'all guns blazing' is baseless. Nothing in CFG's short history suggests they are going to take a more active/aggressive approach.

It could be a right strategy in the long run, but those expecting an open fight with UEFA, G4 and biased British media are going to be disappointed. And does it make sense for an UAE representative to have an open confrontation with European sharks like Agnelli and co? Looks like Khaldoon thinks it doesn't. I reckon he'll take another 'pinch' if needed. That's how he operates - wisely or 'cowardly', you decide.
Is that what you want to happen? Or you know will happen?
Some of us know what we want to happen we are not saying it will, but I would love to see Uefa dragged through court even if it meant no Champions League, a stand needs to be made at some point and for me we have reached it, the club may have other ideas but I do seem to remember Kaldhoon saying we wouldn't take another pinch and I think I'll take his word for it

Look mate.(Fred)

The NYT’s and the media in this country have done their best to ruin our title celebrations. 1 day after we won the title it was eclipsed and over shadowed by the NYT‘s article. City must have been furious. Now we have the Allez, Allez, Allez video. With Liverpool fans and the media twisting it.
It has been nothing but a hatchet job on City since City won the title. And it will probably get even worse before it get’s better. Like every other City fan I’m now happy the club has now come out fighting on all fronts. There is a continual war being orchestrated against City, led by UEFA, the European and PL cartel clubs, and the media in this country. At some point Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon, Soriano, Pep and the club had to start fighting back. That fight back has rightly now started.

Another point to consider in this as well is that Barcelona will be spending 100 million plus on another player this summer. They, Real, Bayern, Athletico, United, Juve, PSG all have. We havent come close as yet. Plus how many of their players in the above teams get paid 500k plus per week. That always goes unnoticed as well imo

I'd say that's come directly from City. They've shown links with the Telegraph before. I think that shows that the club blame Rick Parry for the leak, and are subtly threatening him by mentioning "commercial activities" or whatever it was.

Again, they are only quoting the press release from yesterday. Nothing in that article shows that City are finally standing up to UEFA. They don’t blame anyone specifically for the leaks. The Torygraph are the ones speculating where the leak came from.

In fairness, Parry and Gill have been sitting on these FFP boards for 10 years, no mainstream press has asked them if they have a conflict of interest until today.

That sounds dangerously legal to me.

Not just are they acting in bad faith but are spoiling the reputation of our 'brand'.

They will need some pretty good lawyers if this doesn't go away quickly.

The only person to mention this kind of thing has been Pep.

It's about time we started pushing our side of the story & comparing our conduct, with the people who seek to undermine us.

You are in for a surprise mate. Khaldoon and the club are and will be pushing back publicly. They've had enough.
