UK far right trouble

Wouldn't normally quote myself. But there's a reason.

My position is still that we simply don't know and we'll find out more at the trial.

Of course @ZenHalfTimeCrock. You made a point last week that it's a logical possibility that he's not an Islamic extremist and vice versa and I agreed but I think the posts were removed.

The broad point I'm making though is that you should be able to speculate that he is or he isn't an Islamic extremist without being arrested, especially if the evidence (as in the above) suggests that it's true! And you should also be able to speculate that his name is John or his name is Ali. We've lost that in this country over the past 150 days and I think that's shameful.

You can speculate whether it’s Ali or John as you say, there has been no change to freedom of speech.

What you can’t do, is use that speculation to fan the flames of social unrest whether in person or online, and not expect to face the relevant consequences.

You can't do that, I'm afraid. Lots of people were arrested and prosecuted for speculating the killer was called Ali. It was all over the news.

So, they were arrested just for saying;

“I’ve heard the guy is called Ali?”

Or was there something more to it? I think there was.

I'm near certain it's Worsley. All the hallmarks with the pattern of writing and hatred of Muslims. Initially trying to disguise as someone young just doesn't work.
Been on here since April 2021 though so it would've meant him having 2 accounts. Not that that can't be done of course but I'm not sure why he would if he already had an active account from which he wasn't afraid to post his dubious views. That said, Worsley did disappear off here a couple of years or so back and didn't reappear for a long time. Not sure why he went but he probably couldn't hack all the criticism of his beloved Boris!

I don't know who Worsley is but does it really matter...I thought you might be Conor McGregor when you offered me a fight outside the stadium ha but surely the point of a forum is to debate opposing viewpoints whoever it's from.

Speaking of which, how do you reconcile wanting people locked up for inciting violence but inciting violence yourself...do you not see how ridiculous that makes your argument look?

Bingo! At last.

Acknowledgement that you do understand that those people were convicted for inciting violence, and not merely saying that the person was named Ali.

Shown yourself up now, you did know along.

All your posts are now shown to be simply bullshit as a result. Do you know how ridiculous that makes you look?

I've never defended anyone who's incited violence but there's a huge number of cases where people have been locked up for comments or tweets or posts that fall well short of that, either pre or post-conviction that have nothing to do with violent incitement, and that's been the crux of what's been debated over the past few pages if you want to look at the individual cases mentioned? They've been all over the news too.

Also warnings from the CPS that simply reposting videos of protests and riots could be illegal.

Do you seriously think everyone targeted by the extrajudicial arrests were inciting violence?

errr really? It is generally accepted that complainants of such crimes should not be named, and the law reflects this. The police, CPS and courts do everything they can to safeguard the privacy of complainants. Rightly so. But what has been lost in recent years, as a succession of reforms to the criminal justice system that strengthened protections for complainants and witnesses, is that defendants, regardless of what one might instinctively think or feel about them, are innocent, until such time that they are proven guilty. The only time they can be named is when reporting restrictions are lifted once charged.
