UK far right trouble

A copper got injured in a traffic accident? Well, I’m convinced, lock up ‘em for life I say. Let’s hope no copper gets his foot ran over by a tractor, the State will be handing out ten year stretches to Farmer Ted.
Haha, that one reminds me of the time the police reported a bee sting as an 'injury' caused during some protest or other.

Laughable that Starmer has raised the case of Jimmy Lai to the Chinese who, amongst other things, has been jailed for Twitter posts.

The Chinese would have laughed us out of town. We have no moral authority to complain about locking anyone up for speech crimes.
Based on what I see, I think (chinese)people's emotions about this are mixed. Starmer have taken decisive action, which we believe is the right thing to do. At the same time, we also feel a little relieved, because ordinary people in Britain, like us, do not like riots. We also feel anger. When a riot takes place in the UK or the US, politicians in Western countries will demand that order be restored as soon as possible and all criminals arrested. But if a riot happened to us, they would just say "human rights".

When your country needs a lot of immigrants, riots like this are the price, or cost, that you have to bear. People should be considerate of the tough measures taken by the government. Otherwise, how are you going to deal with these challenges?

If I went around telling people in your local area that you were a paedophile do you think it would be right that I faced no consequences when it turned out to be not true but only after you had been beaten to pulp?

I would have known that people believing it would be likely to attack you.

Many people who spread that name didn't care If it was true and didn't care for the consequences.

I think you're talking about the law of libel, which is not a crime. You can get sued for it but it's only actionable by a real person. Ali Al Shakati wasn't a real person and didn't suffer any personal or economic costs as a result.

That makes it okay for the police to throw you in a cell then for reposting an article! Others were charged for substantially the same thing.

Juries are freely able to acquit guilty people.

The man deserved a conviction and jail time. Almost none of what he said was true, and he incited violence against people.

That's the hypocrisy there and why no-one takes Britain seriously about human rights on the world stage anymore.

if it's spoken words it is slander. I think you know that falsely claiming an asylum seeker killed people incites violence against other asylum seekers. Why do you think asylum seeker accommodation was set on fire?

Doesn't matter whether you say it in person or online, defamation/'inaccuracy' is not a crime in this country.

The biggest cause for the three little girls being murdered was the fact it was, prima facie, a horrific terrorist attack despite the authorities trying to cover it up, which inflamed the situation more than the Ali Al Shakati stuff in my opinion.

People assumed it was an Islamic extremist because that's an obvious assumption to make given past terrorist attacks (although it remains to be seen whether it's correct in this instance) so that led to a lot of the anger targeting Muslims/mosques.

The stuff about Ali Al Shakati is a distraction and a nonsense. It was made clear it wasn't him within hours, and the protests and riots would have happened regardless and continued targeting asylum seeker hotels long after it was made clear that the suspect was not an asylum seeker.
