We've had this debate before and the claim that the only people locked up after Southport were either violent or inciting violence is false. There is no point in having it again because everyone knows that wasn't the case, and there's been several cases on here posted from reputable sources that show it was a wider political crackdown.
The police, CPS, and Government would have had the public's support if they would have just targeted those who were violent or incited violence, and they would have had some moral authority to complain to China about their own political crackdown and assault on freedom of expression. Unfortunately, they didn't. It was a PR disaster for the UK justice system and Keir Starmer's personal ratings have suffered the biggest collapse on record and continue to fall because the public know the truth.
He has no moral authority to lecture China on anything.
