It kind of gives you a different perspective on our 'multicultured' society....

As an ex-moderator i think Damo has every right to his opinion, he is as much a member of this board as you and me.

As long as the CoC isnt broken i would say to your good self get on with it, we are all big boys in a passionate debate and occasionally remarks are made.

In fairness there will be plenty of asians who get dogs abuse from white people and because of this have a dislike for white people, this how racism breeds, if an asian called me all the names under the sun, i would just think he was a dick, i wouldnt blame the next asian guy i came across

Please don't misquote me, I haven't said anywhere that I think voting UKIP would change that, but was answering a question as to why some people living in Oldham may think they should.

And sorry Damo....but the scrotes doing this are sons of immigrants. Immigrants who in particular had zero interest in integration, but prefer ghettoisation (sp?) and have brought their kids up to view white (and non muslim Afro Carribean black) women in particular as 'beneath them' and fair game......it's totally unnaceptable, and certainly wouldn't be tolerated if it was in reverse.

But as such, those in the leafy suburbs of Didsbury etc don't get to hear about it, as the media ignores it (these are daily occurances by the way, not one offs, and not just confined to Oldham....friends daughter is a trainee radiotherapist at Tameside Hospital, and runs the guantlet of these scum on her walk to the hospital regulary) and it's either dismissed as exagerration or 'racist lies' It's neither. It's the reality. And as such, you will see many people in these areas and situation, right or wrongly looking at the UKIP and BNP even for 'a solution'

correct me if i'm wrong and i am sure you will but finding a job in the 50's and 60's was not as tough as it is now, would it not be better now if the people already living here wherever they originated from become the bus drivers and nurses, we dont have a shortage of people we are just not utilising them in the proper way

In the 50/60s we approached full employment. There were a shortage of workers. That is a capatilist nightmare as workers hold all the cards and they can demand higher wages as there labour becomes more sought after. The result of full employment is lower profits and no capatalist wants or desires that. The solution was to import labour from elsewhere as it was the only way to keep the labour market competitive for the capitalists to achieve the profits to enable growth.

As for utilising people properly thats harder than you think. We leave school generally with basic skills and we either start work or go on to specialise in further education. There is not a continual strand of education for us. We know what we know basically.

If we had a shortage of nurses and an excess of bricklayers, we couldnt expect the brickies to suddenly start nursing and vice versa without coprehensive retraining. If we did that we could end up with a load of nurses who could also lay bricks. Thats simplistic i know but i hope you get my gist.

we are an island. we can only physically allow so many people to live here. Theres nothing wrong with putting a limit on it. As quantity grows, quality goes.

All these left wing up their own arses type do my head in. just because a party isn't acting in a pc (left wing invented shite). This countries too fucking soft on immigrants. All the other countries have got it ok, they just fuck em off to us because they know it's full of do gooders who care more about others problems than their own.

Some people must honestly believe we are a self sufficient country which does not import any products. in 1812, the population of this country was 20m. Only 200 hundred years later, it's more than tripled to 62m. Yes, migration has played a strong part of this but in another 200 hundred years time. In 6 or so generations, do you really believe this island can contain and be of any quality of life to the estimated 125m citizens? we cant even sort out poverty in the poorest areas. Immigration IS a problem to the quality of our childrens futures and their childrens' childrens futures and just because you wont be alive doesnt mean it wont happen.

now i aint no BNP xenophobe and love the idea of multicultaralism. There has to be a point in time though when our borders say 'right, enough is enough' we're a sinking ship already being made worse by clueless city workers who gambled and still are gambling our countries reservations in the billions every minute.

I will vote for a party who aren't racist but instead, provide common sense in their manifesto's rather than some ideological bullshit aimed towards the demographic. Too long this countries succumbed to the lies of the wealthiest old boy parties who promise the same as the party before did except 10x's better. the only people allowed into this country should be the ones who will benefit most to the sustainability of the island for the progressive course of time not just for now but for the future.

Yes we are an island but that is irrelevant - we have the same size sq miles as a similar sized country that is land locked.
I am an immigrant in the USA and came here legally and found a job and am contributing via taxes and health care etc and have been unable to claim benefits upon arrival.
It just needs a party in the UK to welcome immigrants on the same basis who are willing to do the same

I think you are the exception and not the rule. I know this for a fact since I have physically seen/brought into the US of A THOUSANDS of poor, ill equipped immigrants. They go on the dole and suck out of the system.....

Though god knows there is a gap in the market for a party that better reflects public opinion rather than simply ignoring it. I haven't voted for them before apart from in Euro elections but if there was a real chance to break up the current boring tory/labour self-serving stalemate then I'd vote for anybody that offered that opportunity.
