sounds like your more annoyed and fed up with England because of events from 15/20/30 years ago. They just aren’t relevant now. Most of the things that made England so unlikeable just don’t apply to this side.

My view of footballers is that they play for me (and all other fans). I support the team, the players just happen to play for that team. When footballers win things, they win it for the team and for me to enjoy (and all other fans). They aren’t there playing for their own fame and success, despite what their egos might think, and i don’t support them for them to win things as individuals; they are there to help the team to win and to entertain me and bring me joy (or whoever supports whichever club or country they support and these players play for).Let's give an extreme example to test this.
