It was an absolutely superb performance that. It should give Denmark something to think about as well. I fully expect us to go into the final and I do think that, whatever the result, we will have given it our best shot.

Southgate deserves a lot of credit - he's been superb in the tournament with a dip v Scotland. I've been really impressed with his management skills and hope he wants to continue with England to the WC.

I can't understand how anyone who supports England is not enjoying this. It's probably our best chance of getting to a final since 1966. If you're not enjoying this, you'll never enjoy it! Just go with the flow, we know it's not City but it's the next best thing!

I think that on the whole, the tournament has been great. France going out was a shock, Croatia v Spain was a great comeback, Switzerland v France was a great comeback, Switzerland v Spain shoot out was insane, Belgium v Italy was a great game, Sweden v Poland a good one, England doing well, Germany v Hungary was a surprise, Portugal v Germany was another good game. Even the final will have a team (England or Denmark) who don't normally get to finals (yes, I know Denmark did in the 90s) so it's been one for me.

COME ON ENGERLAND!

The boozer where I was last night after the national anthems some rags started knocking out the ‘why don’t city fuck off home’ nursery rhymes. Fucking weirdos we have really damaged them.
Was that in Manchester area? That child Lingard from Warrington and several foreign players couldn't see how stupid they are in singing it.
Anybody singing club songs especially that one watching an international needs an injection of brain cells.

An improved performance, the squad looks a happy place to be, the hype though is ridiculous. I will be staying away from newspapers this week.

I am of the opinion the standard in this tournament has been poor. The semi finalists are an imitation Spain, a shadow of a great Italy side, a workmanlike Denmark and an improving but limited England.

Of the four teams left, there is possible one top quality centre forward in Kane, Italy's Immobile is a Championship player, Denmark would be mid table in the championship and England maybe a mid table prem team.

I said to a mate if Burnley had entered this tournament they would win it, I do not mean to disrespect Burnley either.

The defending has been mostly of a standard of the Dog and Duck after a heavy night out, Italy excepted but their defence is approaching pensionable age, England's defence has been OK but my mam who is 87 could have marshalled a back four against Ukraine (our Zin do OK)

It has been an uninspiring tournament, maybe not surprising because of the pandemic and the utter stupidity of the travelling some teams have had to do. It is a wonder they know what day of the week it is never mind where and who they are playing.

There has been one good game, Italy v the Belgians and that would have been on last on a normal MOTD. There has been a paucity of great goals, I cant recall one that I thought Wow, that is brilliant.
Yeah ok.

I wouldn’t take what Bluemoon says in an England thread as gospel.

Everyone has been raving about Sterling, both on BBC and ITV. Before every game so far there’s been a montage and interview with him: one talking about growing up by Wembley, one on how different it is as a senior player to how it was when he first got in the squad at 18, one surrounding the racism topic, one about football itself… he’s scored and set up goals, he’s been one of the most effective players in the tournament so far and he’s been praised as such… and while he’s done some brilliant things, I think there’s been some very poor end product from him at times as well but absolutely nobody is talking about that, his pass to Müller in the last game was brushed over n’all.

Before the game yesterday it was barely mentioned about Sancho and as well as looking at England in general and past tournaments, the two players they focused on were Sterling and Zinchenko.

BBC News after the game last night had a section where they were at John Stones’ old junior football club, where all the locals were watching the game and they were all being asked about Stones.

But most on here don’t see that, they filter all that out and just concentrate on any positives about United that are mentioned. I find that weird and obsessive. All the “I’m turning it off until kick off” lot moan that it’s all about United but miss that it’s all about City, all the “I’m muting the commentary” lot moan about how much they talk about United but how do they know if their tele is muted? There are some very bitter and strange fans in these England threads.

(Jermaine Jenas is a boring shit accent mumbling droning idiot, though!)
100% correct.

Yes it was, typical rag shit house behaviour. Remember how they got a game postponed as they couldn’t hack Liverpool handing City the title? They have been damaged by being the second team in Manchester for 8 years.
