ULEZ Letter

Yes, we've seen those reports here as well. Patronising as they are, you seem to like and want to believe them.

It's prepared by the Mayor's Office, what do you expect them to say, something differing from their employer ?

Did you not bother to read the part about scrappage schemes?

The Tories are already getting cold feet about the move to only new electric vehicles, which doesn't involve a single person having to sell their car. Given that they pushed for ULEZ and are now using it against Labour, the politics of introducing a nationwide scheme would be much, much more difficult.
Using it against Labour. In Greater Manchester they have had to curb Labours enthusiasm for their grand scheme !

Two areas jumped at being in the scheme that already met the existing criteria. If that's not about cashing in, then tell me what is ?

And you think that the low paid have the extra cash to add to the schemes ?

Finance options?

Or:

"Options are also available which include a lower payment plus one or two adult-rate Annual Bus & Tram Passes that are worth more than the payment alone."

That isn't going to work for everyone is it. You're still saying that the low paid have to find more cash. Can you see the carer going round on public transport to their many 15 or 30 minute appointmnets. Or for that matter, finding the extra cash to pay a loan or finance when every penny is already accounted for ?

Unfortunately it's a tax on the poor, and not the sort of shangri-la that is promoted !

3000000 years humans have walked the earth, but the last 60 nay 30 tbf they cannot live without a car each.

We deserve to burn as a species for being so fucking useless and reliant on machines

So one pass for one person the the owner of the car, how about their family that use the car to drop off at school go and do the weekly shop etc etc. £2k will last maybe a year at a push then what? Finance you say, let’s see new car on finance on around £200 a month and I’m been generous, I suppose if they can afford that they won’t be on benefits. If the want to really clean up then put it on the MOT and fail the cars immediately, but then they won’t get the income will they? Let’s not forget all the fines they will be collecting as well. From thise that can’t afford to pay, bailiffs at the door next.

This was his idea, even the government slapped him down. The public transport is abysmal, and getting worse, not improving.

It could take up to 3 hours on public transport to cover what would take 20 mins in a private vehicle. Add that up either way to your working day, and say goodbye to your life.

It's also funny how he stated that he could not use public transport because he couldn't get to work in time. Somewhat ironic, don't you think ?
Public transport in London is not getting worse. They've spent the equivalent of HS2 on new railway lines.

And as for "

the word "could" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Given the congestion in London, public transport can be quicker than driving.
