ULEZ

It's 15 quid a day I think covering the same area as the congestion charge, but they've shortened the amount of time you've got to pay I think. Caught a mate of mine out.

Would never ever drive in central london unless it was an emergency. Quicker and cheaper to use public transport or cycle.

happened to me when I visited York(I think) some bridge you can only go over if you've got a packet of winegums balancing on your head whilst you whistle dixie, there was a sign they said, somewhere in Wrexham ,I got one going into York and another a couple of days later leaving fucking York,i did a bit of research and it seemed hundreds of thousands of people got caught as well, everybody between a certain date got their money back including me,love York for a visit but they can go and fuck themselves now I wont be going back the snide cunts
If that's the case the short sighted bureaucrats, probably on a nice fat pension working 10 - 3 with a 2 hour lunch break all paid by us, will price themselves out of the tourist market and then blame brexit or the opposition party for the fact that ' their ' town or city is dying, shops and businesses are closing and it's all the fault of the interweb.

Khan is getting rinsed over the expansion he could get told by the courts to fuck it off, hopefully that will lead to the death knell in Manchester and other places. Just a money making scheme, it’s estimated he could rake in nearly £260 million in fines alone, that’s more than the rest of the country’s combined parking fines, and his own report says that it’s a negligible impact on air quality it’s pure money making.

understood , if they get the same here in M/c it will cause mayhem for sole traders & the like
anyways good luck to you
If you ever look at the map for the Manchester ULEZ zone there is one way to avoid it there is an actual route NW to SE, once people figure it out it will be absolute chaos. I believe in Birmingham people have actually stopped paying the fines and the councils have given up chasing them for it as it will actually cost more to pursue them than what they will get, it’s a joke all over the country. I get people are worried about health etc but these zones do duck all to help, traders will just put the money on bills and pay the fees it stops nothing.

agreed , my lad got hit with £60 after villa a few seasons back . just a scam .

The ULEZ has been/is to be extended to include LHR if it is then how are cars the biggest pollutant ???

Builders who have a lot of tools and kit to carry. Ridiculous they are being punished the cost will ultimately be passed on to consumers. An unnecessary increase to costs on top of inflation.
Yep & Not everyone can afford to change van to euro 6 , wrong time to be a young tradesman just starting out . the amount of vans being turned over is on the increase as well . My van is 2015 with low mileage really need it to see me through to retirement.

And a new van is £35k plus but they’ll give you £4k towards it if your lucky !

The truth about the London Ulez is its just a money making con.
They have outsourced the fines to a private company who continually cock up. A Parisian hired a compliant car in Paris, drove to London for 3 days and was fined 11k. They wrongly recorded his car as a diesel, fined him for the 3 days and because he didn't respond within 28 days the fines kept increasing.
It has nothing to do with air quality but everything to do with income generation.
