Underrated Players from the 90s onwards.

Mike Sheron - looked great either playing upfront or on the right wing. Technically very good, eye for goal but sadly a yard short of pace.
It’s odd how Sheron and Steve Kinsey have virtually slipped from the consciousness of many blues despite being homegrown players who I think were both our top scorers at some stage

Our defenders under Pearce.. we'd have been relegated without them(06/07). 7 0-0s and 5 1-0 wins.

We had a better defensive record than 5th place Tottenham but we were useless going forward.

Robinho, I know he didn't really know anything about us when he signed but I thought he was really class, the hatrick against arse was amazing, made me start to believe we could attract world class players - even with Hughes at the helm. :)

Well if Paul Ritchie was any good he must be the most underrated City player in history, as I’d never even heard of the fucker until 30 seconds ago.

Spencer Prior wasn’t underrated. He was absolute horse shit. Although did score on his debut at Portsmouth possibly?
I only knew him because he played for Hearts before moving on a Bosman to Rangers. He never played for Rangers before City paid £500,000! That probably summed up City’s recruitment policy as he made only eight league appearances.

File in the same category as Gerry Creaney.

You could possibly add Mark Lillis to that list also.

It does happen with non-academy players also, Van buyten played about 6 games but gets referenced more than Distain who played around 180 games. Ali B gets huge praise but Berkovic in comparison, very little, who was also an exceptional player and out performed him in the Premiership.

Speaking of which, Distin was a good player

Remember signing Paul Ritchie, purely because I knew a (different) Paul Ritchie, don't remember too much about him.
Creaney on the other hand was truly awful.
Paul Walsh went the other way (to Pompey) as part of the deal, we really got stitched up big time there,!
