Underrated, or undervalued may be a better word, by managers/the club - on his day he would be as good as Steven Gerrard in Centre Mid, and proving his quality and professionalism to this day by still playing for a top PL team aged 36!
Michael Ball. Thought he was a pretty solid left-back as well as being one of the few players in that team that could pass the ball forwards, to a teammate.

In my 30+ years of watching City we have had very few left backs (genuine left footed ones) who were ok and of them i'm struggling to think of really good ones.Michael Ball.
