The "swinging 60s" weren't bad either. We swung from relegation to league title to cup winners all in the same decade. Just a teenager then, but I was there!

The one thing that separates us from all clubs is our financial strength. This is why I recently have come to the conclusion that we should just inflate the market even more and spend £70m on a Morata, Belotti or Lukaku as it will raise the bar for other transfers thus pricing out less rich clubs. £70m to us is like £35m to a team like Dortmund so we should act like it. No point having all this financial power and then not use it to its full capabilities because its not like we are playing a brand of football that is better than any other elite club.

Wazza is in the press this AM - journo's suggesting he is not willing to take a pay cut and is pricing himself out of a move to Everton.

My mate who is big Everton fan is not surprised at this. The whole thing is pretty disrespectful to Everton, people assuming they will happily feed from the scraps that drop from the rags table. They have bigger ambitions and a manger that is trying to make an impact. He would much prefer a young striker that is on the way up.

Not sure how this will pan out but Wazza might be a rag quite deep into this window which would be great, especially if they keep getting snubbed.

I hope Shrek's advisors have told him he won't get a comparable wage deal anywhere else in the UK so he might as well stay at the rags. I would love to see his bloated face next season still there and doing absolutely nothing except draw his three hundred grand a week.
