United (A) Post Match Thread

I accept the Pep is a genius and I'm just a fan crap but I would love to know the reasoning behind Phil's arse still being on the bench at fulltime. I must have been watching a different game to Pep some players had a crap game so surely he should be making it easier for them by making changes. It was ridiculous and if anything he handicapped the team with his lack of action. I am livid.

To win titles you have to win a fair number of games against the sides who are deemed potential top 4 sides and we just aren’t doing it regularly enough.

We have won 3 of our last 9 games against the so called top 6. And throw Leicester in and it’s one out of 5 this season.

That simply has to change.

Mourinho does this, it's a masterclass. "Attack wins games, defence wins titles" and other yer da shite. Pep does it and he is a fraud. Get behind the team you useless cunts.

Its almost as if people would prefer to play more attacking and get bummed on the counter like we did in both league games last season.

For most of my lifetime a point at Old Trafford was never something to complain about.

Micah just said he was impressed with the way maguire defended, ffs we didn't attack, not the sharpest knife in the draw is he

We just made the worst United team in my lifetime deservedly draw against us
You bloody kids were obviously not around at the Maine Road derby in 1973/74, when Mike Doyle and the Lou's Chippy owner were sent off. That also ended 0-0. They were total crap that year until Denis put them out of their misery.
Tonight marked a truly forgettable game, the first one I have ever watched with the mute button on after 2 minutes. It was either that or kick a hole in the screen after listening to the 2 morons commentating. Both teams played with the attitude of not losing instead of trying to win, which was disgraceful.
MOTM John Stones.

The fucking shite Neville and Keane spout! Why the fuck is it down to us to take the game to United??? They are the home side, their team has been assembled for a fortune, these clowns are talking like we scraped a draw away to Scunthorpe!

Tbf he is right, this City team is a shadow of the team that won the league 2 years ago.

Does anyone still rate Rodri?

One of our biggest flaws IMO. Far from a Fernandinho replacement.

We've got better footballers at centre half and defensively and positionally he's all over the place too. Can't stand watching him play to be honest, ponderous and always a step behind.

Couple that with losing David and our midfield is a mess at the moment.
Had doubts early on saw a ponderous footballer

Every player we sign 99 % of fans are wanking themselves silly. Now they are all shit . Some very short memories on here . We have had a few fucking brilliant years and now are rebuilding. If you dont like it fuck off. You can blame it on covid.

Just seen what Pep said after the game.. "It is not a derby, it would be different with the people and maybe they pushed more. It is different every week without the people, the virus is still there, you have to be careful." So there you have it folks. That was not a derby.

I mentioned this against Marseille, but Pep confuses me:

1) Why didn't Gundogan play? Was he still injured against Marseille, probably shouldn't have played him against them in a useless game then. Or did we want the better defensive midfielders? Then we lost his creative passing and feels like the worse option, too passive.

2) Mendy out wide really stretched the pitch, Cancelo while fine, is not as good at it, and is better on the right. Mendy was also rested against Marseille, which made me think clearly Mendy would start, but still no, why? Is Cancelo a better defender than Mendy, or a better creator on the left, just an odd choice.

Correct these 2 things and "I think" we are set-up better, but...

The CBs were good as usual, has been like that lately which is great. The lack of finishing up front is clearly annoying, but we also only had a total of 9 shots, with maybe a handful on target and should have had atleast 1 goal, so can't completely blame the set-up, the players must take blame as well as Pep.

Pretty sure some posting on here are United fans or you’ve had more than a few beers as you make the word hyperbole sound like...hyperbole.

Yes, not the greatest and we have our issues that need sorting, but the notion we can’t win the league again with Pep is the latest of top 10 most ridiculous statements I’ve ever heard from a so-called City supporter.
Why? We are going backwards at an alarming rate. Two years ago we were going to the swamp expecting to score 3/4. Now it seems Pep is frightened of losing. From two seasons of 90 plus points we look like we would struggle to get 80. We never looked like a team unable to score a goal, we now seem to struggle against any decent team

we have to be different and hard to beat in respecting united

so what if we did not win ? we did not lose and its going to take time for the whole time to settle down because we are missing a striker. jesus is not a striker and can not play back to goal or smell a chance like a striker does. we need a top draw striker in jan even if aguero becomes fit and ready to play every week. there is a very big hole up front and we are not giving KDB something to hit

jesus is a problem for pep and city in the way pep setups up the team. we are asking for jesus to be a lone striker and lead the line but jesus is far to lazy and turns off ? yes good with the ball at his feet and can be a really problem to defenders if he gets on a run from 30 yards out

we should be straight in for a top draw striker come midnight 31st of december ? go for the best even if its coasting us big money it will be worth every penny to this team and KDB
”Jesus is too lazy”
I’m not having that.

It's weird but if 90% of this team was sold, I wouldn't be upset. There's just so many players in this club that just invoke apathy.
