I mentioned this against Marseille, but Pep confuses me:
1) Why didn't Gundogan play? Was he still injured against Marseille, probably shouldn't have played him against them in a useless game then. Or did we want the better defensive midfielders? Then we lost his creative passing and feels like the worse option, too passive.
2) Mendy out wide really stretched the pitch, Cancelo while fine, is not as good at it, and is better on the right. Mendy was also rested against Marseille, which made me think clearly Mendy would start, but still no, why? Is Cancelo a better defender than Mendy, or a better creator on the left, just an odd choice.
Correct these 2 things and "I think" we are set-up better, but...
The CBs were good as usual, has been like that lately which is great. The lack of finishing up front is clearly annoying, but we also only had a total of 9 shots, with maybe a handful on target and should have had atleast 1 goal, so can't completely blame the set-up, the players must take blame as well as Pep.
