United (A) Post Match Thread

I’m just surprised Foden is still here after being stood around watching Mahrez and Sterling perform like that and not being able to be played.

Ratboy is a failure as a manager, so not sure if he has the credibility to slag us off the way he is.
We were poor, lacked finishing lethality yet again. We made chances, but as usual, spunked them away.
As for Mahrez, he should not be allowed to put on a shirt again for us unless it’s against a bottom 3 team. Him and Raz were a disgrace.

You called pep a **** and not for the first time , i said stop it , it did not warrant abuse , lucky for you it was to me
Savage him kaz, your leaning too much towards zen tonight

Rags would have seen our team and wanked them self daft.

weak management. We have lost confidence in our ability . Over thinking and showing far too much respect worrying about the opposition instead of having the opposition worry about us .

same with Lyon, scousers and now this.

subs garbage and ineffective again.

pep is far too close to the managers and owners at the club. Far too safe,

KDB looked totally exasporated many times in the game thinking do I have to do everything myself?

I really worry about him and Foden thinking about whether this is right for them.

we are not improving .

I said it in the match thread and ill say it here...we are nto as good as some people want to believe...we just made an oridanry utd team look half decent...

The balance in midfield isnt right....playing two our of the 3 of Rodri, Ferna and Gundogan isnt working. Is it because Pep doesnt think that one of them on their own can be enough to play the pivot/no. 6 role/defensive midfield role?....Ferna use to be able to do it on his won and still looks like the only one that can...Rodri was shocking again today.

Mahrez (based on Peps comments recently) shouldnt even make the bench in the next few weeks - one decent pass and 44 mins of absolute shit. He is spineless and when against stronger teams he goes missing every single time. Id sell him asap ...sterling as innaffective but at least he keeps giving it a go

Posities as others have mentioned is the back 3 of 4....Stones looks like the player Pep believes he is once again and Dias has been excellent since day one...Walkr never fails to put a shift in ....cancello is ok but he aint a left back (but is the best option at present)....Torres looked to offer something at least a little different

Jesus works hard but in tight games where there is little service we need a forward who can create something on his own....Jesus is never going to be that player...though he has a place in the team if we have another goal scorer on the pitch.
The lack of pace, directness or attacking threat of the front three magnifies the lack of dynamism in the midfield three at the moment. We look ponderous in games like today.

They were shite but their pace still looked dangerous on a few occasions.

Another problem is that our best two full backs are right backs. Cancelo played fairly well tonight but he doesn’t offer natural width or an ability to drive on the outside.

Judging by the scream of agony as Rashford fell to the ground, l thought we were about to witness the first posthumous award of a penalty to United.
Did VAR get the ref to change his mind a couple of seconds after they went toe to toe before the heartbreak ofseeing it was offside? We can only guess nowadays but it all has a whiff of dodginess.
Said the same why did he suddenly give it Wisper in his ear? If it was VAR then that is wrong but it could have been the Lino to give benefit of the doubt

Does anyone still rate Rodri?

One of our biggest flaws IMO. Far from a Fernandinho replacement.

We've got better footballers at centre half and defensively and positionally he's all over the place too. Can't stand watching him play to be honest, ponderous and always a step behind.

Couple that with losing David and our midfield is a mess at the moment.
Rodri wasn't the problem. Sterling and Mahrez both being useless will get you closer to the truth along with Pep not getting them fired up. Ferny and McT were the only 2 players who knew it was a Derby.
