United (A) Post Match Thread

What young manager's are out there they they can get? Seriously who is doing well in football?

Potter or Rodgers would be their best bet but I see them going for a bigger name like Zidane if they sack Ole.

The one thing I’ll say about Brighton and Leicester is that they are both well coached sides. They have a plan and patterns to their game which is why they are decent sides to watch. I also think that is why Pep rates them so highly as well.

I suppose the big question mark would be whether they can handle big egos. If they can, then they’d be a good replacement for managers at any of the top PL clubs.

I didn’t see any violence - in fact the worst I’ve seen was on Wembley Way after the 1-0 in the FA semi in 2011 - but it’s still a head down and go kind of place.

For better or worse, it’s totally opposite to the Etihad. Plenty of oppo fans will be milling around at the food stalls & round City Square.

It’s not the ‘modern’ way, but it’s unpleasant.
Bit like their football, stuck in the past.

Thought that was at home
It was. Late in 2006-07 under Pearce. Crap7 scored from the spot for them and Vassell took a late pen down the middle. The keeper dived but it hit his legs and our long wait for a home goal continued.
The clown Barton usually took them but he missed the previous week against Villa and didn't play against the rags. i think that might have been about the time the Ousmane Dabo incident occured.

Not had a chance to run through the thread but, having been to the game, there’s one thing I’ve got to credit the rags for. The walk towards the stadium and the area surrounding it is intimidating as fuck. They haven’t lost the old school feel in the surrounding area with the pubs and chippys on Matt Busby way.

Granted, it’s a side-product of their owners having zero interest in the redevelopment of the area (noticed a fair bit of wasteland and dereliction adjacent to the ground), but it’s a positive all the same.

I hate the walk in, I hate the walk out. Hasn’t changed in the 15 or so years since I first went to OT.

Loved the two hours inside though :-)
Been loads over the years. All over that ground. Nothin but shithouses.

Can’t even blame Sky. City’s marketing team themselves have rebranded us as ‘Man City’. See the third kit ffs. I detest it.
Same, don’t think I’ve uttered “Man City” out my mouth in the 55 years I’ve been watching em.

Of course he is - but I called you out on the stupid thing you said about the rag players: ie
I’d take Pogba, Fernandes, Greenwood, Rashford, Ronaldo, Sancho, Varane and Shaw if they were available for the right price. They’re all decent players

shaw? Sancho. Varanne. Pogba

Do be serious

I’m not advocating swapping our current players for theirs. I simply think there is some potential in those players and Pep could get a tune out of them.
