FUCKING HELL is worst than I thought Rashford follows the ball for yards clearly inferring with play. It has to be off side. Most players would have stood still knowing they are off side.

It never went to VAR. it was decided on the pitch by Twatwell.
VAR didn’t intervene. Funny that innit.

Oh, I'm in total agreement the rule is a joke and needs changing, especially with the way it judges defenders touching the ball. But the law says:

• making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball

He was in the way of Akanji tracking back, he made Walker change the trajectory of his run to cut him off, he made Ederson come out of his goal square. What more does he have to do to be interpreted as interfering in play? Does he have to knock a few defenders out and spit in Ederson's face before he starts 'impacting the ability of an opponent to play the ball'?

Walker running towards him (if he did, looked more like he was failing to track Fernandes) doesn't impact his ability to play the ball. For Akanji, Rashford would have been in his way and therefore active if Akanji was a yard further forward. As it is, he's nowhere near the ball, partly because it was played towards a player so far offside.

It had F1 level of cheating vibes for me…..

There is no doubt Rashford is active and influencing play. The linesman made the correct call. VAR intervened and overturned the decision…no on screen review shown.

I do think we need to find a way of moving forward. Pep should be telling the team that officials cheating only impacts us if we are not at our best…..

Some changes I would make going forward.

- Find a way of playing with Haaland. For what ever reason we are not targeting him and he often tracks into MF looking for the ball.

- Introduce a second striker, Alvarez ideal for this (imo), playing in behind or from either wing.

- Drop those players who are spent forces or consistently underperforming.

- Bring in a foil for pep. He seems devoid of new ideas. Maybe he shouldn’t have signed the contract extension? In any event he needs someone to help him.

I think the PL and media got what they wanted today despite a fairly shit performance from the rags…but you know what they’ll say about that !!

Eddie and Akanji think Rashford is still in play, so they move towards him - therefore Rashford influenced play illegally in an offside position - aka interfered with play = no goal.
