United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy winning it, but if you were starting from scratch there's no way you'd design a league with two domestic cup competitions, one of which only a handful of teams actually try to win. Between the Premier League, the League Cup, the FA Cup, the Champion's League, and International calendar which now includes the Nations League or whatever they call it, the football calendar is way too full. And of all of those one competition pretty obviously stands out as something that could be scrapped.
Scrap your pre season tours in America if the fixture list is to full. I can’t be listening to these big clubs whine about the fixture list when they fuck off around the world for two months in the summer. What do you think clubs will do during a winter break? Also the league cup is great source of revenue for lower league clubs.

It's incredible disgusting. Maybe the reason is to create an Super European League?

I think Europe League is unavoidable because everyone is watching Premier League and the top Clubs of other Country are angry
Of course it is. We dont like the burnley franchise. Sell it of to the highest bidder. Madrid, Paris etc . Would only need 5 votes

The special status is about such matters as rule changes etc.
BUT this should be resisted at all costs. In a league all clubs should have an equal say.
One of the proposals is that the clubs with special status would be able to veto proposed new owners. Just another way for rags and dippers to keep opposition to a minimum.
City should NOT be supporting this carve up.
But I bet City definitely Will support such a stitch up.

It's very unclear, but it seems to suggest that it would mean that you'd need 6 out of 9 to vote on something for it to be passed. I don't know if the rest of the league get a say at all. But how long before 6 out of 9 decide that actually, we'd prefer more of the TV revenue, and we're the only ones that get a vote?
I read it the same. Instead of all clubs voting and 14 required to pass, it would be nine voting with 6 required to pass. The other 9 would get no say at all. Fundamentally wrong.

But the preseason is actually important to play for fitness, tactics, academy prospects, etc....and also takes place during the summer. Scrapping it doesn't do anything for fixture congestion.

Also interesting this self appointed mafia could stop takeovers at rivals if it conflicted with their own money making activits.

i can’t see the other premier league clubs agreeing to this.

Sadly, I expect you are right. Self interest rules ok.
Not sure we would go along with a lot of it. We will be very aware of the 6 votes required scenario. It is more than likely that would hand all the power over to the Americans. A question of time before Spurs gets sold. No guarantees regarding Chelsea.
