United away - pre-match thread

Let the soft-arses have all the coverage and reassuring build-up that they need before the derby. All they are doing are generating and applying a huge amount of pressure on themselves before a ball is even kicked. It's all on them and Moureen to get the result. If they don't it'll be a huge level of fail and they'll look like even bigger c**ts than they currently are. We'll just keep under the radar, remain quietly confident and do what we do best in bringing the noise and upsetting the neighbours.

Mourinho was not first-choice at United. His football is anything but the overhyped "United way". Most of their fans' first choice was Pep. Mou, the global PR honcho Mendes, as well as his media pals know he still has to win over sections of their fans. And we all know how much of a **** he is. Class is the last word anyone uses to describe him. While on this side of Manchester, we hv Pep, who is not only the most successful & brightest mind in Europe in the last decade, but also plays attractive football and is ALSO a classy guy. He does not indulge in non-sense, trolling or throwing muck! Whats more, he wipes the floor with Mou on head-to-heads as well.

Now this is the scenario. Imagine you are the tabloid rags. Your most important job: How do you create the perception that Mou vs Pep is a match-up of EQUALS? Big-up Mou AND/OR throw muck at Pep. And there are well-known usual suspects from whose shoulder, you can fire potshots at Pep. So interview these morons. I am sure many of these quotes were made months or several weeks before or even years before. But they dont matter. The spin matters. And the timing matters even more. Pep as a concept, is too good to be true. Pep is almost perfect. There is very little stick to beat him with. So just before the derby, you are seeing the result of all the "hardwork" of these lovely media muppets.

The good news is Pep has no time for these bellends. So should we.

I was actually thinking of the game at the Etihad when Muller played up front and from memory Bayern were playing in Grey? Some United fan speeded the coverage up and set it to the Benny Hill music. Quite amusing actually for a rag.

is that the game where Aguero score late for a 3-2 win????

Agreed

He is pathetic.

A real fluttering kite.
If united had managed to get Pep, I wonder what his opinion would be? I'm guessing he'd be talking about him being the best manager in the world, playing the most exciting football. I really wish we had intelligent, thoughtful punditry in this country rather than the biased bilge we are subjected to.

Thanks Karen, but why not just put that they agree.
Anyway back to topic, it's a win for City, with all the attention on this game clattencunt will have to behave himself the best team will win and that is our blues ;-)
This^...........I agree 100%! ;0)

The way the so called experts are predicting we might as well not turn up and just give them the 3 points. ! Think I will give up on tv and papers until I can read all about our win on Sunday !

Maybe we should just literally not turn up and send a message saying that as United are so big and famous they can have a game with themselves.

I thought, maybe they're gonna balance out the build up over the days leading up to it then. Today I'm greeted by Dwight Yorke's preview on my screen *facepalm* - nothing on us. They're social media is also all rag sided, articles from Schmeichel, Ibra and Ibra's agent all saying Pep is overrated.

It's not that I'm surprised, it's just annoying that people who work there must recognise all their build up is one-sided when probably the biggest thing about good sports coverage is balanced reporting/viewpoints etc. It's annoying that they see this, know this and don't see a problem with it.

Don't know what Quinn said. Wasn't near the radio to listen, then.

I predict that the Paralympics will dominate the sports sections in Sunday's papers now that the jock is out of the US Open.

3:10 secs of total football, including Lahm's tackle on Navas to win the ball back, only to be ended by Nasri's Lunge. One of my favorite sporting moments. It could very well be us doing this to other teams in years to come

I love the way we take it in turns to 'press' with the defence stood back like statues, then immediately whack it long when we get it, as nobody is looking for a pass. Hate the way we've knelt down to so many european teams, particularly since being in the Champs Lg.

Good stuff from Bayern but ffs...

Tbh, impressive as it is, I actually think Pep would be telling them off for that. It's possession for the sake of it rather than incisive, which he doesn't like.

Bring the 3 points back to Manchester boy's.
And wipe your feet on the way out of that rancid hell hole ..

No it is not - because you see in between how Robben or Ribery try to bring it forward - but do not get into the position to shoot. You see the vertical pass to the runner, too. You cannot pass forward, when you did not open up the space. Bayern had 21 shots in that match - 8 on target.
