United (H) - League Cup SF 2nd Leg Post-Match Thread

Well just woke up from our lenny Henry 'hotel!' and about to start for home. Now that I have slept on it. It was a strange feeling last yes we lost but it felt like a win.
Yes City lost but look at the teams utd full strength City well I wouldnt say that was our strongest 11. That said I didnt think its offered much I dont remember Bravo having a save to make unlike de Gea who kept the rags on the game in the first 20 minutes or so. I thought the push on Sterling from were I was in 114 was a pen , seems pushing Sterling isnt a foul anyway !.
We didnt have our shooting boots on and having seen that clip of our magician pulling the ball back when in a clear shooting chance summed up our night ......just bloody shoot !!!
Still we are at Wembley and the rags arent that will do for me.
The raggie fans seemed very angry at the end lol

There was 1 attack in the 1st half where the ball was crossed low and hard into United's penalty area. Serg was the only City player inside the 18 yard box. United had 6 players in the 18 yard box. All the other City players where outside the 18 yard box.

As an example it wasn’t like either Wolves performance or even Norwich for me. It was purely a case of terrible finishing and an unfortunate goal. It wasn’t like you could see their plan and it would inevitably work. They didn’t catch us on the break they didn’t threat they scored from a free kick due to a not getting enough on a clearance. That can happen. We won nearly all second balls moved the ball quickly and generally looked solid at the back. We played very well in parts and never really looked like conceding another even during the shaky 10 mins either side of half time. Another day we score at least two of the sitters we had and DeGea is in his 2020 form not his 2016 form and we win very, very comfortably.

That’s my take anyway.
Not sure mate. Why do we miss these sitters? Were you honestly surprised that Raz didn’t score when through on goal or that David would pass? I wasn’t. United were so limited in both legs and yet we struggled. We need to take a serious serious look at our medical department too. Laporte, Fern and Mendy not available for last night. Please god we get these injuries behind us and start to play our best settled team. It’s the only way I can see we will get real consistent performance.

It's very difficult to explain. At some point in a football match even the very best teams will concede chances. In that regard we are no different and actually have one of the better records in respect of shots at our goal.

For whatever reason, they all end up in our net. I think that is just unlucky. I really do. Football is a strange game.
I was thinking the same after Matic scored. It’s bizarre.

It isn't, we sit in different blocks in different parts of the ground for each game we go to, we sit around in city square, for a bit. I have never heard some of the negative, self entitled nastiness read on here, especially on the match threads, but I was shocked last night how the post match thread reacted to winning yet another semi final.
The bloke we sit next to is a one off in my experience, but it is so dismal and draining to listen to, but I would say that kind of attitude is pretty prevalent in here. There are an awful lot of bitter, spoiled bastards in here, and it’s pathetic. The difference between disappointment and spoiled bitterness is huge

we’ve made it to Wembley and kept Ole in a job. For me that was the best potential outcome. Yes I would have loved to have thrashed the rags but that would have put Ole on the Old King Coal
