Youve just said it. It suits “really good teams”. Trouble is with the theory is … what if you arent a really good team ? What if the kids just arent capable? What if its easier for them and suits the players to go long? Is that bad ?My daughters team is the same u10s, Keepers aren't allowed kick the ball out of their hands and also not allowed kick long from a goal kick.
The ball always has to be played to either full back from a goal kick and keep playing around the back until an option becomes available.
To be honest they are a really good team, Funnily enough the teams that cause them problems are the ones who go long and panic sets in with the players they really find it difficult in those situations.
I coach my lads team and its nice to watch them pass it about, probs low/mid level. But every now and then hoof the thing :)
