United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I’m not talking about the rags winning the league but how we’re giving up the balance of power in Manchester. It started with the cup final, then staff moving over to them, the rags are gash but we managed to lose to them today. Our slide has been coming for a while, no left back, no replacement defensive midfielder, no 2nd centre forward, our amazing 1st team has melted away through injury and age and we’ve done nothing to follow it up with quality replacements.
I don’t know if the 115 has made them take their eye off the ball or they’ve become that arrogant or naive or the pressure of fighting the cartel/media/uefa/pl is finally telling.
Whatever it is I don’t want to give those fückers any sniff of getting back above us.
If nothing else today should see the start of sorting this crisis out, which in comparison to Lincoln or York away in 98 is nothing, but from 4 in a row it’s a prob

We pretty much won the lot with no proper left back, as for giving that lot anything, I don't think so, though *maybe* they did take Amorim, but it was probably pretty clear at the time, to the powers that be that Pep was staying.

Not been as angry about a performance for a long long time. Not turning up to the cup final you could kind of forgive considering the season we'd had but yesterday , no. Sick of the excuses now. If players are low in confidence, playing with injuries, couldn't be arsed well guess what we have a world renowned academy we've spent a fortune on full of players chomping at the bit to play in a Manchester derby
Our un-professionalism for that cup final was the start of the rot, i'm still more angry at that than yesterdays debacle, yes we were top of the league 11 games ago but we had stumbled to victories, not sure where we go from here, but there are certain players who shouldn't wear the shirt again.

not easy to take, losing very late on to United. It seemed to be individual cock-ups letting us down, yet again, but we shouldn't let that paper over the fairly turgid display up to the penalty.

I think Gundogan and perhaps Silva are the only players who are playing with an iota of self belief, and even then the former is ageing and is being overplayed while the latter is struggling for the quality of previous seasons. The collective disappearance of form and belief is staggering.

There’s a pattern that’s developed….
We are conceding late in games, we rarely ever conceded in the last third of the game, but just lately we look jaded after an hour and get sloppy, errors creep in and it has cost us dearly. Is this due to players running out of steam, lack of confidence, weak mentality or just a temporary lack of form?

Bournemouth was our first loss in 32 games (Thirty two). We were top!
Brighton, leading until 78th minute then concede twice in quick succession.
Feyenoord 3-0 up in 76th minute then concede three in quick succession
Spurs late goal
Liverpool late goal
Today, tops it all. Leading our bitter rivals in the 88th minute and conceded twice in final two minutes.

We looked very nervy after about an hour today and we settled into a negative pattern and this gave them the initiative. Worth noting that the penalty came form our corner in the 88th minute. A shite corner, but we retained posession and ended up passing it about to the last man, Nunes, who then committed hari kari. From the resulting KO, we nearly fucked it up again! Then, Gvardiol and Nunes let Diallo run between them…. Gvardiol should have stopped that scuffed shot too. Villa is now a huge watershed for us, lose that and lose to Everton and CL qualification is on the line for sure.
Great post and analysis. Pep once said when asked about the secret of his success "keep the ball." Fair enough but not to the point of passing sideways and backwards even when taking a corner. Ironically, now, when we most need to keep the ball, we don't.

The amount of players that need moving on and replacing is so large that it’s going to require 2-3 years of consistently good decision making in the market to get us back to the top. And that’s the worry, since it’s 2-3 years of consistently bad decision making in the market that’s got us here. Let’s hope Viana knows what he’s doing.

A million and one things wrong with the club on & off the pitch.

I'll not mention corners that can't beat the first man time& time again, I know I just have and we scored from one....

Throw-ins I counted 6/7 out of 8 on the bounce where we didn't know what the fuck to do and lost the ball directly or within a second of the throw & this with a defender in space 25 yards back. We seem happy to pass it back from the fucking front but would rather lose possession than throw it there.

Just so fucked off about yesterday.
Grealish's stoppage time corner was embarrassing!
