United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Haven't turned on the telly since yesterday afternoon, I won't be turning it on either, At this rate I'm sure Netflix are probably showing the highlights of the game.

Couldn't even listen to the radio today without them constantly banging on about it ffs

Sometimes I wonder why I like football :)

This is major reputational damage for Guardiola. Bottom line is that he is rightly lauded as a super coach and innovator, and for many years we have heard the old conundrum ‘ could Pep get a tune out of Wolves or Stoke?’. Now we have the answer . One of the least fruitful seasons of our history, the worst in Pep’s history anywhere. But it started right in front of our eyes , probably in the treble season, but in reality since Aguero , Silva and Fernandinho left we have not properly replaced .
Pep has trusted his troops, possibly to his detriment , trusting his old hands and not giving opportunity to Lavia, Frimpong, Palmer, McAtee,Rodgers , Harwood Bellis, Delap, who all could probably should have been integrated into the squad much earlier than they were ( or never were in some cases ).
Some of the names linked may never happen and will take time to integrate . The replacents for Palmer and Mahrez been poor, and the pace of the team gone backwards with age.
But this is Pep’s one chance to prove above all that he’s not a quitter, will roll up his sleeves, be ruthless where he needs to, rip up the script if need be, and put things right , if not this season then next

I actually felt sorry for Nunes yesterday who before his fuck up was doing a decent job in an unfamiliar role.
I agree. Although I criticised him on the match day thread for his mistake, I since remembered Foden did similar against Palace last season, and KDB against Forest recently played a back pass that very nearly cost a goal. I hope Nunez gets another opportunity. His penalty in the Charity Shield was something else!

I think we need to focus on 40 points. We need another 13 to be safe. Most teams in their day can beat us.
I was about to say that's a bloody stupid post, but when I thought about it I wondered where those 13 points might come from.
Target might be lower due to Southampton, Wolves and Ipswich being a bit shit. And the rags, as we saw yesterday.
