United (H) Post Match Thread

24 + hours later I am still puzzling on why Sergio wasn't brought onto the pitch with at least 30 minutes to go. We were so wasteful in front of goal that (to me) ir was obvious we needed someone with goal scoring ability. Sure he would have been rusty but the fact he was on the pitch would have sown a few doubts in the rags defenders minds and at the same time given our lads a bit of encouragement.

Are we flat track bullies?. Get the impression we lose matches of major importance with this group.

We're fine when on top and all going well. Off script and we're fucked. No plan B.
It’s an interesting question, in one off high pressure games I do have doubts with us .
It seems silly to say with all the trophy’s we’ve won .
But there is a nagging feeling that we do succumb to pressure in high stress games .
Lyon last season being the standout one , we were heavy favourites there and pretty much bottled it .
But then there’s examples like 2018/19 against Liverpool at home , must win game against a very strong Liverpool team, had to win and did .
Losing to spurs also in the champions league , although I think we were unlucky there .
Rather than bottled it , we fought till the end in that game , just conceded silly goals .
I think personally this group and pep until we win a champions league may always have them questions.
I was pretty sure until this weekend that we would win the champions league this year , just had that feeling .
This loss at the weekend though has created some doubts with that though .
We looked susceptible to the counter all game .
I thought we had eradicated this problem.
Also didn’t like how we responded in the game to going behind , when United went 2-0 up it was pretty much curtains , never felt like we would respond.

Yes, I’m sure Pep can learn a thing or two from you.
It’s all about opinions . I am sure that Pep would agree that he probably got it wrong yesterday. Not sure where your hostility and sarcasm comes from, I thought I made quite a valid point with regards to Peps team selection. Hand on heart David, were you happy with that team before the match.

We took a while, but I thought we responded by taking control after the first 10-15 minutes, creating enough chances to have at least drawn level, and for 30 minutes of the first half we played much as we have for the previous 21 games.

Then we had half time, and almost immediately gifted them a second through our own mistakes.

After that we still created enough chances to turn it around, but Sterling, Gundogan, Jesus, and others couldn't find the goal.

We had 23 goal attempts to their 8, so we should be winning that.

That's kind of the point though. We cant respond to adversity, we go down or behind we're pretty much fucked, in the main.

Those mistakes are always there too.

I genuinely fear playing against a side that are actually good.

Bayerns wingers running at Cancelo and Zinchy would give you nightmares for example

I wasn’t happy with the team, no. But there’s been other games when I’ve felt like that and we’ve smashed teams. Sorry to be sarky. I was annoyed at blues claiming we were second best when clearly we weren’t and you probably bore the brunt.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, it was just one of those games and it had been coming for a while now.

Exactly as I saw it. Two bad 10 minutes spells after the goals and apart from that total domination. And that was with KDB playing as a total liability.

Fair enough.

Oh ye of little faith. Bayern won’t fancy our attackers swarming all over them, let me tell you now. Judge the season at the end.
