United (H) Post Match Thread

Notice the regression in Gundo since Kev came back in?

He isn't getting closer to goal anymore because he is basically running back in to try and help Rodri out because De Bruyne has lost the ball again.

Felt sorry for Rodri and Gundo today, both had plenty of effort.

They need a pair of legs around them and Pep isn't giving it to them.
There was a point in the second half where Gundo was trying to bust a gut to get back when Kev gave it away again yet I swear I could have covered the ground quicker myself, it was painful to watch. We then recovered the ball and broke forward and did our usual of slowing it down and about 30 seconds later Gundo hadn’t managed to get back into the picture frame yet, I was howling laughing (in a sad way).

Now, this wasn’t happening for the 6 weeks when Kev was out, Bernie was doing the legwork and Gundo could concentrate on linking the forward play and getting into dangerous positions. Soon as Kev is back he’s turned to shit again.

Front 3 were poor today so i’d like to see Phil, Ferran and Sergio get some minutes soon. If they don’t get minutes after the performances today then somethings up

The amount of fucking half wits we have in our fan base on Facebook is staggering! I'm seeing people calling pep a clown etc. What the actual fuck??!! Getting beat in a derby is shit, absolutely shit. BUT!!!! 11 points clear, pretty much quarter final of CL, League cup final, fa cup quarters, the longest winning run in English top flight history..... PePs A cLoWn... Arseholes

I’m really worried we’ll drop a totally random team selection in the CL at some point now. I thought we might have moved on.

We are a better team playing without a recognised striker. The Anfield, Stamford Bridge, and Old Trafford in the league cup performances suggest that.

Sterling should maybe sit out the next few derby days. Hes one of the few who makes Wan Bissaka look like a good footballer twice a season.

Other than that can't really say much, we could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored.

Move on, 21 wins in a row is now over, time to start a new run

It hurts to lose to United, and for them to end our winning & unbeaten runs stings a little....but honestly I’m not as devastated as I have in the past as,

1) We’re still no1 and well in control of the league
2) We didn’t play that bad, this is a wake up call, we’ll learn from it and bounce back stronger on Wednesday
3) Probably keeps solskjaer in a job and he’s utterly average
4) Highlights need for a clinical goal scorer and need to get Haaland (or someone similar) in the summer
5) As a fan my focus isn‘t survival and the Derby, it’s about winning silverware and losing this game doesn’t impact that
5) We were always going to lose a game but though we lost we’re still in 4 competitions (leading league by a Mile & in a final) we have a great team capable of winning everything
6) Manu aren‘t our competition, the only team which really challenges us is in the league is liverpool (even though they’re appalling at the moment) so that’s though Derby is special it ain’t what it was for me
7) I think this season without fans in the stadium this Darby games aren’t the same, they lack the emotion/drama and are more like any other game (though for us fans they’re not)

I hurt of course but there’s still so much positives to take from where we are, the team and the future.... this one lose doesn’t change any of that! Bouncing back to winning ways is however important but I have zero doubt pep will use this hurt/pain to fire them up again and they’ll be utterly prepared & focused for the next game (Which we‘ll win).....

The worrying thing is almost every one of our high profile defeats is on the back of controversial team selection. So it’s not like Pep learns from it.

Every team selection is controversial on here. Literally every game thread has people arguing over the team, not happy with Mahrez or Sterling or Jesus or Walker or go back a few months and it was Zinchenko or Stones or Gundogan or Rodri that Pep was being stubborn with and not picking the side Bluemoon wanted.

When we win, like we did 21 times in a row, it's all just forgotten and swept under the rug, and when we lose it's immediately "I told you so before kick off, Pep's too stubborn" etc. etc.

If you concede inside 30 seconds selection becomes pretty irrelevant. Pep doesn't pick a side to come back from 1-0 down.

Hopefully the loss will be used to draw the right conclusions and to avoid mistakes like today's, both from Pep and the players. Hopefully it will make us stronger.

I love Pep but that wasn't our best team right now and he knows it. Got away without Bernardo against West Ham but today he was seriously missed. Bernardo is the glue in midfield and offers energy. Of course, he should be rested but today wasn't the right moment. Bernardo is huge for this team.

Zinchenko played well but Walker's pace was missed too. Foden's energy and speed as well.

We are in a fantastic position now. The loss may help us if Pep uses it to make us stronger.

We may play United in the FA Cup and there hopefully we will have our revenge.

Pep still doesn't get derbies, the team selection was totally wrong. Crying out for Silva and Foden from the off. Yet again he picks the wrong team in a derby.
The team was beaten in the first minute, they dont have the mental resilience to win games from behind still.
I wonder sometimes whether pep secretly likes the Rags more, he spends a lot of time sucking them off before games and doesn't seem to understand the rivalry.
Maybe next season we should just send them the 6 points in the post.
You've fucked up another derby again, thanks Pep.

I would spend your time wondering about things that are more realiatic like the earth being flat or the likelihood man never made it to the moon.

I swear to god if I see another one of them “at least solskjaer’s still in a job” posts i’m gonna do myself some serious harm. What a pathetic take

None of those games mattered as much as todays. Simple as that.
Haha.. are you mad? Or just trolling??

We will be winning the league. That may not have been the case if we had lost those.

And as we will be winning the league regardless... are you saying we would be better off winning a dead rubber against the same opposition rather than a league cup semi?

Weird logic that my friend. Personally I would like to win the league and have a crack at the league cup too.
