To think we had no Diaz, Laporte, Stones yesterday. Our 2 centre backs were magnificent, Akanji motm for me, and that’s the best I have seen Ake on the ball yet (always good defensively but SO good on the ball yesterday). Any 2 of those 5 is the best centre back pairing in the premier league, amazing situation to be in

I too thought Akanji was MotM. He was brilliant throughout.

akanji reminded of prime vinnie yesterday. Big, strong, solid defensively, and calm when coming out with the ball.
very impressed with him so far! Looks a steal at 17mil

Said the same, think he's been magnificent from day one. He's the competition Dias , Stones and Laporte need.

On a side note, Ake has been fantastic since last season and doesn't get enough credit for his constant 8 out of 10 performances. I'm so glad he didn't leave.

What did everybody think of Gomez when he came on? I felt like he really struggled positionally, its understandable as he's young and playing LB for us in a derby is much different to LB for Anderlecht. Very tidy on the ball obviously so was interesting to see him moved into a 6/8 later on.

Different levels between the teams, if Walker had stayed on i think we could've got into double figures tbfh. I can't think of any player in the United team that came off well, a couple of mentions for Anthony on Twitter but from my seat in 307 it looked like Cancelo had him locked down all game...was completely useless until he scored.

A special shout out for Ake and Akanji, looked brilliant together and both of them winning towering headers and driving out of defence with the ball was beautiful to watch.

The standard of our play is that high anyone coming in the side will find it hard till they up to speed!

He had an assist loved the first time cross he did for Haaland! he did have a few miss passes he just need more game time don’t know if he will get it though..

Fucking hell no disrespect to Alistair Mann he seems like a nice bloke but fucking hell does he ever shut up? Just watching the match back in City tv and it’s as annoying as fuck. I know he may also be doing it for radio but even so Allie less is ducking more and JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP. Gets more words in per minute than the ex mother in law

Darren Fletcher (i think) on BT Sport is the same, they seem to think that allowing viewers 3 seconds to watch the game without some inane verbals adds up to unforgivable 'dead air'. I find myself shouting at the tv exactly what you said BBS, 'shut the fuck up!'

Just a bit disappointed at the 3 we let in, but the game was won at half time and with the subs it was understandable that we slacked off a bit

Atmosphere was good started off the usal aggressive to more of a carnival at the end we absolutely humiliated them I just hope we do the same to Liverpool

Before the game some steward was escorting a lad out of 107, Think he was part of a junior team and had been spotted with a united shirt beneath his club's trickier. All I heard as they walked passed was the coach saying to him "what did you wear that for? What am I going to do with you now you dickhead?"
