United (H) | Post Match Thread

I hate him but he was a better manager than ten hag and would not have gone into an away derby like that, he played for a draw when we had to beat them to the league, yesterday was very naive from them and football suicide. The point is, you can't pick 5 attacking players against us and expect to get a result
You can, you just need the players to work as hard as possible, like ours do.

Bacon chops had access to the best players available on the market and played 442 mostly on the counter attack, overloading the box and crossing the ball in as many times as possible.

He was very good at picking the right personalities.

Pepball killed his method though. No point running around like blue arsed flies when they couldn’t win the ball back.

Have a look at our pressing yesterday. It was supreme in the first half and they couldn’t put 2 passes together. That’s the bit of Pepball that goes under the radar.

Our pressing was highlighted on sky, that proves my point, too many attacking players that didn't want to do the dirty work. Even Liverpool with all their attacking talent and work rate have had some good hidings from us, it just doesn't work against this city team whoever you are.

It does if you have the right players. Look at Spurs. They beat us far more than they should.

Yes and they are probably the blueprint and they don't play 5 attacking players against us, they have a solid defensive base and 3 hard working forwards, utd played 5, Liverpool usually play 5 and it usually ends with them conceding a lot of goals. Ten hag is either arrogant or deluded if he thinks Erikson and Fernandes are going to boss our midfield, sancho is lazy and does that token press where he isn't actually trying to win the ball, rashford is just a fast runner with no brain, no conviction and they were exposed by the best attacking side in the world.

I bet ten hag sat there after 10 minutes and knew he'd fucked up, we live in glorious times!

I'm sorry but it's 9 years since the senile **** retired and football has moved on considerably. Not sure he'd be as successful in 2022 and he certainly wouldn't have done any better than Ten Haag yesterday.

Don't think there'd be many on here who would say Love him. The twat hates City with a passion and can never find anything positive to say about us.

When is ETH's 200th day for the Sky Sports feature and where is Simon Stone's take away from yesterday.

100% agree.
Hasn't got a load of British managers to gift him games and buy their dross (big reason behind Bruce getting the boot at Newcastle).
No longer given a clear run at buying players for knockdown prices.
Not just The chavs, but ourselves to compete against in the transfer market, plus PSG abroad.
Having undue influence both on the premier league and PIGMOL.

It’s beating our press that hurts us. Pep changes how we press in every game slightly, meaning the opposition can’t know what works before starting the game.

The rags were utterly shite at it in the first half. Bournemouth were a tougher test for us.
