United (H) | Post Match Thread

I thought the ref was a pr*ck for giving that penalty knowing it wouldn't be overturned. He would not have given that if it was a tighter score.

Ederson, 6 - strange game for him because he's let three in and made a couple of good saves, yet never seemed that troubled?

Walker, 6 - looked okay before going off, hope the injury isn't serious
Akanji, 8 - was absolutely brilliant in the first half, understandably exposed when Pep took the midfield off
Ake, 8 - won loads of big headers in the first half, again exposed when Pep removed the entire midfield
Cancelo, 7 - kept Antony relatively quiet and supported Grealish well

Gundogan, 8 - was asked to do a big job today and did it well, we weren't the same after he went off
De Bruyne, 9 - lovely to watch when he's in this kind of mood, pass for Haaland's 2nd was outrageous
Bernardo, 8 - always busy and industrious, laid it on well for Foden's goal

Foden, 10 - absolutely superb stuff, the kind of game that dreams are made of
Haaland, 10 - fucking hell, man, just gobbles up everything that goes near him
Grealish, 7 - played brilliantly in spells and had Dalot on toast in the first 30 mins, faded a bit in the second half

Subs:
Gomez, 6 - laid on Haaland's 3rd really nicely but struggled in possession
A bit generous for Joao, he cost us two goals

I think Pep cost us the goals in the end by changing so many players in one go.

We went from

Cancelo, Akanji, Ake, Gomez
Gundogan
De Bruyne, Bernardo

to

Cancelo, Akanji, Laporte, Ake
Gomez
Mahrez, Palmer?

The midfield completely lost shape. Once that happens your defence gets exposed. Understandable that Cancelo (and Gomez) would look a bit weaker.
