United (N) | FA Cup Final | Post-Match Thread

Brilliant day. On train home now. I know people said no one checked tickets but at the turnstile queue before you got to bthe scanner someone wanted to look and he saw it was o65 for my 6 year old, and he ummed then said it's ok you can go in. Relief all round. Brilliant time ,other than my 6 year old wanting to say you're fucking shit all the time as the guy next to him chanted it for the full time the rags were getting their losers medals! School will be fun... ;) Felt guilty and sad not having mum there with me, and knowing she will never be there again. But at least she is still alive for this one despite being end of life care. My son wants to come with me to the shield now, so my brain washing is complete! What date is the shield this year? 2023 has been the worst year old my life ... yet I have to get my head into enjoying what is about to be the biggest month of city..ever.

Bless you and your family

So sorry for your loss fellow blue. Beautiful post mate.

The original question asked "if a defender makes himself big," which I took as deliberately.

In your scenario, it’s a natural position, IMHO.
This is why there are too many variables where handball's concerned.

I've just watched the match back, & the replays show the ball clearly deflecting off Grealish's fingers, slowing the ball down as it took a slight upward trajectory.

If the ball missed Grealish, it would have gone to Dias but it could be argued it could've drifted over Dias into a crowd of players stood centrally.

Personally I don't think it was a penalty, but by the letter of the current law, it was. I watched it on the OS, & both Alistair Mann & Michael Brown immediately said it was a penalty, just as I thought when I saw the first replay.

I've no issues with the penalty, but I think it's harsh because what else was Jack supposed to do?

If anything, it's back to the drawing-board over the handball rule AGAIN! \0/

Regardless of the result, City need to write to the FA/Pigmol demanding an explanation of the different standards of refereeing for both clubs.
Under Webb's watch he has taken refereeing standards into the gutter .
That was a disgrace yesterday ,who ever was on var should be ashamed of himself .
To make decisions like that in front of the watching worldwide countries was unbelievable .
Its time to have microphones on them like they do in rugby league ,so they have no hiding places to cheat like that.

Thoughts with you - my Dad died last year, and whilst he hadn't been able to go to the games for a few years we could still share it with him. This year I've missed him at each special moment - and given him a thank you for taking us along to City all those years ago and learning to love this game as much as we already did. On the way home my Uncle rang delighted for us and in doing so remember Dad - its how we carry grief and still enjoy life. I hope you will find ways to do both.
