United Post Match Thread

I've read a lot of comments in a fair few threads tonight about commitment/passion. I genuinely don't for one second think that was the problem today. I thought the players put in the effort, and the commitment. From my point of view, and only mine, the problems stemmed from:

1. Playing MdM. He's just not good enough, especially with the Rags pace up front.
2. Both Fern's should have played.
3. Aguero still dropping too deep for the ball - this has to be down to the manager.
4. At what point does he contemplate dropping Silva. He's fucking bobbins, and has been for a while. I don't care about injuries, I care about form, and he's not cutting it.
5. Every fucking time we get the ball wide, we immediately turn back inside to look for a 5 yard pass. Maybe that's why our midfielders don't make any runs into the box? Or it's why Aguero is dropping so deep?
6. Ian should have been brought on. Absolutely disgraceful that he didn't get a game. Shameful actually. I was fucking gobsmacked when Bony came on.

All very, very frustrating.

I agree with everything apart from point number 4. Silva is absolutely not bobbins.

It's one thing playing Yaya in a two man midfield, or any two in a midfield against a manager who tries to dominate that area, but then it is another playing that midfield, with Demichelis behind.

It's fucking arrogant stubborn shite is what it is.

Today's game should have been an initially cagey affair between two sides not in the best form. One team just went gung ho without a plan the other inferior team, had a plan, got away with a bit of luck & carried out the plan, then got away with it as the other team basically abandoned tactics & just tried to claw their way back, & were a bit unlucky not to.

But had both teams had a manager, City would have won, easily imo. But the same can be said of about 6 or 10 other games.
This is the best post of the day for me
Gives me something to hang on to

You mean Tosin...

Agreed..he's a local (Chorlton) lad, too so might have modified the BBC wankfest over Scum's Wythenshawe lad.. Good player though he undoubtedly is
Plus even I might've done better than MDM today, lol
That's the boy mate.manager can seriously do one now..we have to still fight for fourth place.

Agree with pretty much all of that except to say that I think Bony ebled his disfunctional 90s football plan to work better as he was able to control the ball & lay it off ala Mark Hughes, thus making this Chilean fucking Mike Bassett's philosophy of football more effective.

I can't accept that particular criticism. I saw the players close up.& they were fighting for the ball & wining it, winning headers, pushing forward, & looked fucking gutted to lose.

They also looked gutted when Utd scored, really gutted, imo because they know that the manager is a fucking con man & that we were set up wrong tactically & with selection.

So why don't the players do what they did with Mancini and mutiny?
Why don't they threaten to leave?
Why don't they side with the village idiot of a kit man?
Why don't they throw away an FA Cup final just to make a point?
Why don't they feed the media lies and untruths to undermine him?
Just asking like...

they're far too holistic for that these days

I don't understand any of that, seeing as the manager is going.
But I also don't agree with the excuses for Mancini. He was fucking useless by the time he went as well, & loads of fans failed to see it, same as with Pellegrini.

Silva was really poor first half but in the second he found Aguero twice with long, inch perfect passes inside their box. Aguero failed to hit the target with either. That is bobbins.

I would have liked to see him today as well. Wonder what the reasoning is?

Unforgivable performance to be honest.

I can handle getting beat but that today was yet again abysmal.

The MdM debacle from the player and the manager is enough for me and he should go tonight.
Got in the car after the match .
And Pellegrini said Demichellis was nervous before the match .
Well don't play him .
He's not arsed anymore Pellegrini and he needs to go now .

Still feel let down, the sums of the parts does definitely not live up to its potential on todays performance and that since the first few weeks of the season. Time to move on, rebuild and we can only look forward to a team that learns to press as a team, break at speed and dominate...

If we had a plan, we might be able to get through games like this even if Silva is not great or Aguero misses a few chances.

Well a plan other than the same one Brian Horton had, that is.

Don't care what people say but there's far more to this City team than what we are seeing. They are not too old, they are not passed it, there's vast amounts of quality and experience that in my opinion has been wasted for the last 2 years. There was effort and heart today but the team looks too disjointed and its all sooooo predictable. I'm fed up seeing Aguero isolated as the loan striker every single week because Pellers cant play another formation. Poor Demichelis is just out of his depth now and he knows it, its a shame Pellers doesn't. This team isn't finished, it needs subtle changes to its personal and its approach to winning football matches, watch this space. Roll on next season and hope to God we can edge 4th place. (cough) Well done Utd (cough)

I saw the team sheets and guessed the result, was confident before they came out.

Am I the only one who would have played Sagna at CB and Zabba at RB, thus consigning MDM (who I won't call, he was put in that position) on the bench at best.
