I wonder if I'm alone in this, but being a City fan I'd rather chew my arm off than watch Utd, unless they are playing us, consequently I've no idea how they accumulated their points last season. Utd must be good because they got the same points as us, but how good, strengths and weaknesses I don't have a clue.

My point is, being City fans how often do we actually watch Utd play and how easy is it to see past our dislike of the club to objectively analyse them?

I saw Utd on the box three times last season, I'll leave it to you to guess who their opponents were.

I wouldn't say you were alone, but I sincerely hope you're in the minority.

lol 30 odd years of all your mates being rags while we were shit was anything but interesting :-)

I bet, keep spreading the word on Sad Cafe NHD. :-)

Fair play to Dave for trying to educate the drooling hordes over on ragcafe but he's fighting a losing battle.
What's that old saying ? You can lead a horse to water but you can't educate a bunch of cunts!
Something like that anyway.

To be fair I am not there to educate anyone. It is a good forum for football fans. Theres more talk of tactics and general football on there than there is on here.
It has improved though dratically on here and there is not as much mud slinging and name calling (transfer forum aside lol)<br /><br />-- Sat Jul 21, 2012 2:10 pm --<br /><br />Can someone explain what a closet rag is to me please?

We get plenty of rags on here pretending they are blues. Only they know why because it's a pretty pathetic thing to do. Then they try and use words like "massive" and mention things like floodlights before running back to whichever forum spawned them and have a good giggle about getting one over the berties. We usually find them in post approval or within a few posts. Sometimes we let one come on, just so we can take the piss.

If they come on and say they're rags we have no problem, as long as they are respectful they are welcome here. We've actually got a few decent rags that post.

Re: United thread 2012/13.

Bebe scored for the rags against Ajax Cape Town in injury time at the end. THE NEW RONALDO HAS ARRIVED! :D

Match finished 1-1 by the way.

Smalling out for 10 weeks with a broken foot but with Vidic back I doubt he'd be starting anyway.
And so it begins.

Already Evans (surgery) and Smalling out with injuries before the season even starts.

Excellent news for City.

Evans is not as bad as everyone thinks.

Smalling is not only not as bad as anyone thinks he is actually very decent.

Let them start the Season with Stan Laurel and Wio at the heart of the defence.

Re: United thread 2012/13.

How biased / typical / funny can you get in one news article?

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18940863" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18940863</a>

Ajax Cape Town were denied an historic victory over Manchester United, as Bebe's late equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for the visitors.
Funny

The Portuguese substitute scored two minutes into stoppage time, after Ajax had taken the lead in the 86th minute through Alcardo van Graan's back-heel.
Typical

The draw maintains United's unbeaten record on their pre-season tour
Biased

Ajax survived the United onslaught and got their reward through striker Van Graan's looping back-heel from a corner.
Biased

But the tourists could not find the goal
Funny!

Re: United thread 2012/13.

Baconface on Bébé: “We’ll see how the season progresses for him, but it gives me a headache in terms of number of strikers we have there."

I'm sure he's just being polite but it's still funny that he's even on tour.

I watch every game that doesn't clash with ours.

Forbidden fruit is it? Why do you watch the scum? Why not take up knitting or some similar engaging hobby?
Forbidden fruit? Not entirely sure what you mean. I like watching football and I hate Utd so watching them is always good as it means something when you're willing their opposition to do well.

Far more interesting than watching Wigan Vs Fulham.

Anyone who watches their every game is a closet rag imo.
What an idiotic opinion you have.

Well everyone's entitled to an opinion but I do find your reaction over the top but entirely consistent with someone in denial. "Forbidden fruit" is something you know instinctively to be wrong yet you're irresistably drawn to it.

Now I understand and share your desire to see the rags beaten but I ceratinly wouldn't watch their every game - that really would be a triumph of hope over experience. But do tell me:

did you watch every rags game when we were playing in different divisions to them?
do you watch their Carling Cup games, especially when they field a second team?
do you watch their CL group games?
will you watch their first game of next season?
do you know who that is against without looking it up?

If you answer yes to these questions do you ever ask yourself who you really support in your heart of hearts?
