Re: Fergie backing the Glazers - again

For once I agree with Baconface on this one, the Glazers have been brilliant for the rags. Love the Glazers, I hope they stay with the rags for a very very long time and continue to milk them for all they are worth.

Thats the critical point. From my experience the only difference between Manc blues and rags is the team they support.

Every rag I know went on the missing list though when we won :-)

I always like to know who the rags are playing so that I can: -
1. Take the piss out of rags who 'don't know' (and so many just don't).
2. Wish a bit of luck to whoever's playing them (they need it with the bent refs).

I don't watch the most of them but I do sometimes watch a rag game because I just love to see 'em get beat.

Yes, I admit that they are key rivals (at the moment) but no, I'm not bitter, I just love to see them lose is all. Same way we all like to see gobshites come a cropper.
If they drop a division then I'll refocus my mild interest by taking a view on a different key rival.

Psychoanalyse that until your hearts content but I hold that I'm a City fan under any scrutiny.
Of course you're bitter! I am too. As are Rags towards us, and anyone supporter of any club who hates a rival.

"Bitter- characterised by intense antagonism or hostility."

I wouldn't say you were alone, but I sincerely hope you're in the minority.

Why is that? I know you're not getting at me, but why would I watch a team play that I have no interest in, and actually dislike. For me it would be like eating food I found distasteful, drinking a brand of beer I can't stand (Holts) or watching tennis which renders me comatose.
You have no interest in our closest rivals? Really?

Their close rivals now, but for a very long time they were close only in geography.
In truth, for the longest time, watching Utd only reinforced just how poor we were, I was more interested in getting to 40 points, if I had any interest in other teams it was the likes of Stoke, Bolton, Blackburn, Everton, they were our rivals. Not too long ago we were like flotsam, it seemed we were not in control of our destiny, we were poor to middling and the performance of other poor to middling clubs effected our destiny big time.
Now we have our destiny on our hands, it's a point rammed home time and again by Mancini, he hated having to hope for a result at Sunderland, he knows the mark of true winners is to keep going, it was a point of praise he had for Utd early on in the season, but he changed his mind once he saw Utd sit on a three goal lead against us and then come to the Etihad for a draw.

When you forget to frame your successes and failures objectively and start to frame them relative to others you stop being a winner and become nothing more than the last man standing, that is the reason Utd threw away their eight point lead.

Over the last couple of weeks Ferguson has been bleating to anyone who will listen and on almost every occasion he either directly or indirectly refers to us, is that a sign of strength or weakness?

In the league points means prizes, so I keep an eye on the points tally of other teams if it threatens us, but how they got those points is immaterial to me, unless a study of their tactics helps us to beat them when we meet. Otherwise the only time I take notice of other teams is when they are on the field of play against City.

I don't advocate this in life, but in football I'm a great believer in "f**k em, and forget em".

Is there any blues that don't associate with rags?
I would say that 90% of my mates are Blues and I've found some Rags to be very cuntish in all areas of life and not just football. From now on I will not go out with a girl who is a Red after being with a girl for five years who was one and had a family full of Rag cunts from Salford who never go.

Saying that, I could just be lucky enough to have a good group of top lads who I go to City with. There could be a group of Blues from the next part of town who are all cunts.

Re: Fergie backing the Glazers - again

"We can play 18 yr olds because its our history"

He is quite right I cant think of a single team other than the rags ever in the history of football playing a player under 19

I texted all my "decent" blue mates to offer congratulations, within minutes of Aguero's winning goal and have no doubt I'd have received similar texts from them had City not beat QPR.

I didn't bother with the gobby clueless City 'fans' I know (yep, City have 'em too) tho, unsurprisingly, I received several texts from them!

People claiming every rag/blue they know is a **** are chatting bollox (imho), as I've said before the majority of football fans are similar - particularly match going fans.

Re: Fergie backing the Glazers - again

"But I think the majority of real fans will look at it realistically and say it's not affecting the team."

That's gonna go down well with loyal utd fans who do not share bacon mush's pro Glazer stance.

Forbidden fruit? Not entirely sure what you mean. I like watching football and I hate Utd so watching them is always good as it means something when you're willing their opposition to do well.

Far more interesting than watching Wigan Vs Fulham.

What an idiotic opinion you have.

Well everyone's entitled to an opinion but I do find your reaction over the top but entirely consistent with someone in denial. "Forbidden fruit" is something you know instinctively to be wrong yet you're irresistably drawn to it.

Now I understand and share your desire to see the rags beaten but I ceratinly wouldn't watch their every game - that really would be a triumph of hope over experience. But do tell me:

did you watch every rags game when we were playing in different divisions to them?
do you watch their Carling Cup games, especially when they field a second team?
do you watch their CL group games?
will you watch their first game of next season?
do you know who that is against without looking it up?

If you answer yes to these questions do you ever ask yourself who you really support in your heart of hearts?
No when it different leagues and when it didn't matter as we were shit.

Yes I do watch the CL group games if we aren't playing, same as I watch Chelsea or Arsenals.

They are playing away at someone is all I know and yes I'll be watching hoping we get make a gap in the first game.

As for your continued insinuation about bring a closet rag, grow up you fucking child.

Had it not been for the personal abuse I might have thought a fan of football in general with an unusual dedication to his team that extends to watching their hated rivals almost as much as his own team. But no, you're in denial lashing out at me as you confront the uncomfortable truth.
